Meh, would rather have Capela, Adams, one of the Indy bigs, etc.

I feel like Noel has been in the league long enough where he hasn't really made the most of his opportunities (of course, I also haven't seen every one of his games.)

Even if that means losing smart or brown?

Memphis Grizzlies
PG: Dragic, Ball, Carter
SG: Temple, KCP, Holiday, Washburn
SF: Richardson, Anderson, Parsons, Casspi
PF: Jackson jr, Beasley, Watanabe
C: Adebayo, Green, Noah

Sign him and Okafor.  Trade all the picks for Dario Saric.

I haven't thought about Okafor in a while.  Has he made any progress  as a player?

He actually had a bit of a renaissance last season in New Orleans that I believe they picked up his team option.

Okafor basically just put up some modest numbers when the Pelicans were tanking. His option I believe was only 54k guaranteed? I think calling it a renaissance may be a bit much cause i am not sure he is a guarantee to even make the team. I would definitely like Noel

I had all these points/stats tucked away about Noel in the Vonleh thread, but it’s appropriate to mention it here.

Noel was one thought of a future defensive player of the year candidate.  First couple years were promising but things went off the rails, and he also had some off court issues. In Dallas he turned down a 70 mil offer, the was injured a lot.

I think he became a little humbled in OKC, and wanted to show he could play a key role for a winning team.

At OKC last year he played 14 MPG behind Adams.  If you looked at his per 36 minutes they were really impressive 12.9 points, 11.1 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, and 2.3 steals while shooting 58.7 from the field.  He was 3rd in the league in blocks and 1st in steals per 36 minutes!  That is really eye opening.  During his exit interview he vowed to come back a monster next season, but OKC is really strapped over the tax.  Maybe at just turning 25 he is ready to become a defensive force with many more minutes.  I’d love to give the local kid a shot and while we are at sign another local kid Vonleh. Ha

I guess my post was deleted where I remind everyone what an epic POS human he is.

I wouldn't want him within 4 states of my team.

Character matters.

It wasn't deleted.  You posted it in a different thread from this.

What are you talking about? Is he a bad teamate? I don't think I ever heard about it.
Ps: I'm not being a jerk, asking honestly.

Edit: Just googled what POS means, sometimes have a hard time with english abbreviations. But still want to know why he is what you called him.

My understanding of Nerlens is that he’s got lots of athleticism and defensive skill, he is now motivated, but he lacks b-ball IQ. I believe he wasn’t given significant minutes in OKC because he couldn’t be trusted, too much defensive improve and being out of rotational position.

Edit: did a quick search to back up my claim and....found none.
So, feel free to disagree and prove me wrong, may be easy to do.
However, I do wonder why everyone always cites his per 36 numbers as to how good he is. Why doesn’t he get enough minutes to actually use those numbers to show how good he is?

He was given significant minutes. He was a part of their rotation, playing 77 games and getting 10-15 minutes a night.  He wasn’t given more because Steven Adams is better, and you can’t play them both at the same time.  But he was fine in what OKC asked him to do, and I would bet the Thunder would like to have him back for Joan option.

I wouldn’t give Noel 30 minutes a night, but I wouldn’t have a problem with him in a similar or slightly expanded role in Boston.

Like a 1 year veteran minimum deal? I'd do that.

Fair enough, TP.

You'll have to offer more, because why else did Noel decide to opt out?

I think Lopez (Robin) is the veteran, unselfish guy we need.

I’d much rather Noel and Smart over Capela
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

What are people thinking he’ll cost? Can we get him for the room exception of $4.8M? I’m afraid we’re not going to be able to get the likes of a DJ, Dedmon, or Davis type with that little money.
