Anyone have any hot takes on Dzanan Musa? He looks like Steph Curry in these highlight videos.
CBS sports has us taking him at 27. His numbers are pretty good (10 points in 20mpg, good shooter). I don't know much about him, but he looks like he knows how to score. Could be a good find

Musa would be fun to watch in Summer League.

I wrote this some 2 weeks back:
I don't know if he will be available by the time we draft, but Dženan Musa (Jenn-an Moose-aa) fits the bill. Bosnian kid that played for a Croatian champion Cedevita, where he was coached by Jurij Zdovc, ex Slovenian PG that I respect. He is young (got to age 19 just less than 2 weeks back), fairly athletic, has range on his shot (not a fan of his release), has length, some playmaking ability, he seems talented. I went to see him in 4 games live this year and even though he didn't dominate in any of them, there were many flashes. His BBIQ and execution need some work, but he also tries different stuff as he has talent and ability. Definitely enough for a late 1st rounder. If by some chance, now ranked (18-20) he ends up being available.

I'm going to pick 2 binkies.  Just to hedge my bets but chances are we don't draft either of them unless we move up slightly in the draft.

6'9 PF/C Robert Williams from Texas A&M.  He reportedly has a 7'5 wingspan.  He averaged 4 blocks per 40 minutes.  He's what we call a rim protector. ;)

https://www.theringer.com/2018/3/22/17149150/robert-williams-texas-am-sweet-16

He is super athletic and I'm betting that he leapfrogs Yabusele into the big man rotation.  I feel he could be better defensively than Theis because of his massive wingspan.  Defensively, he only trails Mo Bamba and Jaren Jackson Jr in block percentage as a college bigman -- he is significantly better in that department than Wendell Carter Jr, Bagley, and Ayton.

6'3 PG Elie Okobo from France.  He has a really nice 6'8 wingspan.  He's a combo guard who has a wicked passing sense.  Could become really good insurance from the future in case we lose Smart and/or Rozier.

https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2018/6/4/17411476/2018-nba-draft-elie-okobo-la-lakers

I don't buy it that the Lakers are drafting another PG after taking Ball at #2.  Unless they trade Ball, there's no reason to draft Okobo.

This article is a great read about wingspan differential (WD) and how it relates to our current Celtics.

See this article from TheStepien comparing Wendell Carter to... big Al.

https://www.thestepien.com/2018/06/11/wendell-carter-quick-enough-todays-nba/

Understanding that we probably won't trade up to nab a big man, it's still interesting that Carter is someone who may be around when the Knicks pick ninth. Expensive, but maybe not ridiculously expensive. If the Knicks are desperate for a PG and Trae is gone, would they consider TR, the 27th pick, plus the Clippers or Memphis 1st rounder?

People see Carter as a strong, fluid athlete, very well coordinated, with skills under the basket and his jumpshot. Good character, good motor. But they wonder if his athleticism will really allow him to stand out. That ... sounds a lot like the reports we were reading about Jayson Tatum last year.

It probably still makes more sense to wait for next year - keep the picks and either bundle them to get as high in the draft as we can or roll them over for future picks. But I don't know what the Cs' internal scouting report says on Carter. If he really looks like future Al, why not?

Mitchell Robinson.  I'd love to see theC's take a flier.

I'm a fan of *Zhaire Smith.  He has a lot going for him:

-Outlier athleticism.  How quickly he can get off the ground borders on surreal.
-He's tough -fights through screens, closes out hard, and plays with a high motor on both ends.
-Great feel for the game.  Picks his spots well.  Seems to be a good passer too.
-Quick first step off the dribble.
-Decent size at 6'5" with a 6'11" wingspan.

His handles are still questionable.  And his shot is tough to predict-- he has a slow release, shot 40% from 3 on very few attempts, and 70% from the line.  He reminds me of a young JR Smith (with an IQ).  But he just turned 19, came out of nowhere this season as he performed well in a tough conference, and he seems like the type of guy you want on your team.

I'm good with the Celtics taking *Huerter at #27, too.  Best case scenario, we have another long wing with elite 3 pt shooting, some off-dribble playmaking, some defensive versatility, and generally high IQ play on both ends.

I feel like many people are starting to take note of him. So much so that he might launch into the mid-low lottery.

I’m a fan of his fellow Red Raider in Keenan Evans too

This, I’ve been drawing this comparison on other draft threads for weeks. Jackson Jr also looks great, but not like Al, his upside might be more of a Bosh clone with better rim protection, worse passing.

Did any one notice the current Tier breakdown in TheStepien's mock?  I'm not sure if they're using Ford's old descriptors, but this appears markedly different from other sites and common opinions:

Tier 1: Doncic
Tier 2: Jackson Jr., Young
Tier 3: Bagley, Ayton, Carter,
Tier 4: Bridges x2, Z. Smith, Bamba
Tier 5: Sexton, Huerter, Knox, Shai, Melton, Milton, etc.

Tray Young tiers above Bagley, Ayton, Carter & Bamba is hilariously wrong

And there was also no way Baker Mayfield was going ahead of the other QB's let alone #1.

He was a five star recruit, that averaged 27.4PPG/8.7APG and was leading a team that at one point hit #4 in the nation before the wheels fell off.  His game will certainly transfer to the NBA.
