Charlie Daniels RIP. My son and I listen to "Devil went Down to Georgia" all the time. One of the truly great songs.

An awesome song, with an awesome fiddle performance. RIP, Mr. Daniels.

My only revered Charlie Daniels song was "Uneasy Rider".

I was surprised to see that he was 83 -- I thought he was younger.  RIP.

Charlie Daniels was awesome about giving musicians work that didn't fit the typical establishment mold of old Nashville.  You could look like a hippy that's been living in the woods for a year, he didn't care.  If you could play, you could play.

He also put together some amazing lineups at those Volunteer Jam festivals in the 70s.  Love this video from Marshall Tucker band, with Charlie contributing with his fiddle.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay15a2CQoUg
