No Zion
No Durant

Class b or c free agents signed for the next 3 seasons

I feel bad for Stephen A Smith. But this ranting was hilarious

Celtics almost were, until they managed to pick up Kanter in the nick of time.

Otherwise, they'd roll into the season without a reliable frontcourt.  :-X

Charlotte lost Kemba and Lamb, and added Terry.

True

Hornets could use a top 3 pick. Seems like they play well enough for the 8-13th picks every seasons

NY may have added enough pieces to keep them out of the top 3. They should have gone full tank mode instead of adding Randle and pieces. But now unless next years draft is 10 deep, they may miss out.....

Unless they get a pitty #1 lottery ball like NOLA. LOL

They are big losers in terms of perception. They created the hype of FA fireworks themselves by being overconfident Kyrie and Durant were going there. However, once you get past that, their team did not get worst and they're still on the same rebuilding track as they were before. Yes, they dealt Porzingis but you could argue it wasn't so smart to give him the max deal he expected considering his injury history. Also, he didn't want to stay, so there's that.

Toronto looks to be a half-loser because Kawhi is probably leaving, but since they won a title you can't really be too disappointed in that. Also, Kawhi looks to be going to the Western Conference.

I hate to say it, but Boston is probably the biggest loser. Our star players went to our direct competitors in the East. We signed Kemba, but it also capped us out. Unlike any of the other Eastern playoff teams we have a "gaping hole" in the frontcourt and limited means to fill those spots.

Even if we do make some trades to fill those spots, some of our vaunted depth is going to be further depleted (most likely Smart, Theis, and/or Brown, unless we stab Hayward in the back and deal him at his lowest value).

I actually really like what the Knicks did. They have young players with good size. Suddenly Randle is terribly underrated. I think Barrett will have a solid rookie campaign with that group. I like the Payton signing. They maintained flexibility for if a star becomes disgruntled and wants to be traded, but in the meantime I think they’re young and have a lot of upside.

I bet the Knicks finish ahead of the Nets next season

I think relative to their expectations, they certainly may well have. For the fans who thought that they were a lock to get Zion, KD and Kyrie this offseason must seem like a true nightmare.

Charlotte had a shocker, as Roy said.

Right and I think that’s what really did them in, in terms of fan perception. Those fans had some pretty high expectations heading into this off-season, so sure, it has been a let down for them, but I think the fans there in New York are going to end up being pretty pleasantly surprised with this group

It was certainly not helped by talking heads like Stephen A. and Nick Wright proclaiming for months that Kyrie and KD were locks

Oh, I forgot about that. I was happy with the E-Payton signing at first but I forgot about RJ Barrett. Barrett can't shoot either. Two non-shooters no bueno. Knicks gotta surround RJ with shooters.

I am a big fan of RJ and think he can do great things but Knicks got to put the right players around him to help him develop early. This is like when Orlando put E-Payton next to Oladipo at SG and A-Gordon at SF and their offense was a train wreck because of the combined lack of shooting. Not only did it hurt them in the short term but it slowed / stalled the development of each of those 3 players.

E-Payton and RJ Barrett are by far the worst jump-shooting backcourt in the NBA. Payton should never have been brought in to play next to RJ. RJ's development is priority #1 for Knicks future.

I'm interested in that bet you talked about. No way the Knicks finish ahead of the Nets. I think they will be bad on defense and don't have a go to scorer. Will be surprised if they get 40 wins

By far NY. It is not just because they didn't sign anyone but the traded their best player trying to get the cap space.

Kemba does not count?

The media has always overblown their NBA status and relevance, maybe they will wake up now and realize that they are not the center of the universe.

Charlotte..right now they could be worst team in NBA
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin
