Good. I hope he's back. I expect him to have a better year, more like his first year. I think the constipated ball movement of last year's team really hurt him.

Agreed, in addition to the chemistry issues and his recurring injuries.

He’s still got potential as a solid backup big for us, abd I expect him back.

Looks like his cap hold is only $1.8M. Nice.

I found this awesome table that shows cap hold etc for everyone.

The Celtics also offered the qualifying offer to Rozier, so this could just be their way of doing what they have to to keep every option open. If the Kemba news is true, it looks like the Celtics would need to renounce Rozier, at some point, but could still be able to keep Theis' cap hit while signing Kemba.

Smart move. I don't think this signals some guarantee Theis is a Celtic next year, but it keeps the possibility fluid, at any rate.

I don't want him back.

Theis and Rob Williams is two roster spots on one position players who are uncertain to low level contributors. Keep one. Cut the other one lose. And bring in a more reliable solid bench big man.

Hard to get a better big for 1.8m, especially one who had a year in the system.

Yeah that 1.8 mil contract seems really fair for what Theis can provide.  That is peanuts for a back-up big.

Loved Theis 2 years ago. Last year was a bit forgotten. But I do think he can have a role on this team next season.

He's tall and he's cheap - which makes keeping him attractive.
