I really expect Toronto to play much better, it won't be easy.
But if we do get this one today I don't think that they have enough offense to win 4/5 games.

Watching game 1, one of the things that really jumped out to me was how out of shape and slow Gasol looked. He resembles his doughier self from earlier in his career, before he slimmed down. Anyone else notice this?

Wow, for what it's worth... 538 now has the Celtics with a 32% chance to win the Finals, tied for first with the Clippers.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

He's 35, 7 feet tall, and was never exactly known for his springiness or agility. I would tend to agree with you. As long as we can put a body - any body - anywhere near him on the perimeter, he really shouldn't be a threat. Ibaka looked pretty slow, too, but at least he was raining down 3s. TL looked to be just over-helping rather than respecting his 3, so I assume that will be corrected tonight. It's not like TL doesn't have the speed to keep up with him.

Unless Toronto decides to beat us up down low, then I am not too worried. Even then, we have Kanter who can come in and bang around if needed.

Now, Siakam and VanVleet I imagine won't be a complete disaster throughout the series, so we need to keep going at them.

I'm way overconfident right now, and may regret saying this, but.....

I think we will win pretty handily again tonight.  I think the Raptors don't have any answers.

If you read the Raptors' forums right now, they're basically just rooting for Tony Brothers tonight because they know that he screws us every game.

Although they're also scared that we're due to win one when he's reffing.  The Raps fans don't seem super confident overall and they also are pointing out how bad Gasol looks vs us and have threads worrying about Siakam.  I think Siakam is a killer, he just isn't a #1 option.

Wow, didn't realize Tony Brothers is officiating tonight. Honestly, that changes how I feel about the game as well.

Here's a bball breakdown video regarding game 1.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Sj6tznhqZc

He's leaning towards the Raps winning the series in 7 games. He argues that the Raps probably lost their rhythm and emotional equilibrium because of the 11 fouls whistled against them in the first quarter. The Raps missed many open 3s. If they hit more of their open shots, it will be a different game today.

True, but even with the Raps knocking down their 3s, the Cs shouldn't miss a dozen gimme lay-ups or continuously turn the ball over.

A lot of basketball just comes down to making shots.  Raptors shot really poorly in game one.
Odds are they probably won't shoot as bad.  I predict a closer game.

I would agree with that if their heart didn’t leave them last season for LA. That was one of the more fortuitous title runs we’ve seen in awhile.
