https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FnZrEmorIw I think this is a nice breakdown of his strengths and his weaknesses. He seems to have a bunch of potential, and some of his advanced numbers are very encouraging. Hopefully the mental/effort side of him will continue to improve with time on an NBA team.

Thanks for posting.  very detailed.  Makes me feel good about him.  He was  a top 5 high school player.  As stated in the video, if he shut it down after the thumb injury, he would be considered a top 5 pick.  Not  a bad choice at 14.  Kind of feels like what they did with Avery Bradley.

Might be a great bench guy at the worst.

Good post. He looks like an NBA player more than a college player. He's very skilled.

Jaylen is my favorite Celtic but he looks more skilled offensively than Jaylen.

I'd say he's more skilled offensively but less athletic. Not a knock, not many players are.

This. He looks to be able to get to the hole much easier and finish through contact, which is likely due to his more solid handle.

Also, people are sleeping on his defensive potential, too, as he has virtually the same measurements as Brown regarding reach and wingspan.

If he can be converted into a PG I'll never question Danny's drafting in the lotto again. Saw that he can navigate the PnR pretty well, if he hones his passing he could be a pretty good PG. Big if though.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

One big knock with him however is his off balls skills. Doesn't cut much/hard enough, and spot up jumper needs an overhaul. Overall I like the upside, seems like he could be a really good two way player. Seems to have some pick and roll potential as well, could devlop some play making.

I'd say he's a different type of athletic than Jaylen. More of a slippery, fluid athlete (think Harden, CP3 Beal, ect.) rather then a jump out-of-the-building athlete (like a Lebron, Westbrook, ect,), like Jaylen.

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I've heard that some of his off-ball woes have to do with the coach and the system he played in, and that he was better in high school. Have to do more research to confirm for myself.

Yeah, the more I watch him the less I like the Brown comparison. He's more fluid in his movements than Brown and his ballhandling looks >>> better.

Actually, he reminds me a lot of McCollum when you watch him, especially his setup of iso plays and his creation of space.

Thanks. I was just looking around youtube, and found this. Wasn't expecting much from a place like ESPN, but it was surprisingly great and detailed.

Yeah, Jaylen's athleticism is off the charts. This Langford kid is more crafty like DeMar DeRozan...
