Title: Current STM waitlist
Post by: C3LTSF4N on May 30, 2018, 10:03:35 PM
Anyone have a ballpark on the length of the waitlist for loge or balcony season tickets?  I was contacted back today after inquiring last night about 2 pairs of club seats but they were $18,450 and $20,000 for the season.  Bit out of my price range but I’m getting excited for next year already and wondering if I even have a shot at loge or balcony.

I sent a message to my rep and will let you know what I hear back. You're right about the club seats, though. Those are really expensive.

Here's what I learned at move-up (Every year, STMs have a chance to move around when we renew, if there is availability.), which was a few months ago:

In the Loge section, there were only about 50 seats available, total. There was nothing in the balcony. In other words, it's very tight.

So what I'm told is that there is no set time, since the wait list depends on current renewals. From my perspective, as long as they are good, the renewal rate is going to be very, very high.

Hm alright well thank you very much for taking to time to ask.  I guess all I can do is wait my turn.  I suppose it’s better than the alternative where we’re a 24 win team.   ;D

Actually, if you want season tickets, the best thing that could happen would be for them to become a 24-win team. A lot more spots would free up!

How long is the STM waiting list these days anyways?

Ya ya I know I’d rather it be hard for me to get season tickets and them be where they are now so I’ll take that.  Maybe I can watch for when you guys aren’t able to make your games and pick up your extra tickets next year  :P

I’m not really sure but I got an email back today saying that all loge and balcony season tickets are completely sold out so I guess better luck next year.

1,500 names on the list. Doesn't mean, of course, that all 1,500 will buy, but that's still a heck of a list.

Consider that the minimum is 2 tickets so that’s at least 3,000 tickets on wait

Man, back when I got them, they were begging people to buy season tickets.  No wait list. Time sure has changed.

So if I’m hoping to get season tickets five years from now, I should get on the waitlist now?  Is there a cost to that?

Well there’s a $100 deposit per seat with a minimum of 2 seats and a max of 5.  If they contact you offering you seats and you turn it down twice in a row they’ll put you to the bottom of the list again so I guess it’d be worth rolling the dice on if you want to pay the deposit.  I paid this morning so we’ll see.

It sure does look like it’s going to be a long wait though especially with how they’re going to look next year.  Man I wish I was able to do this a year or two ago.

Welcome back!

My rep said to get on the list as soon as possible. She has no idea when tickets will become available, but it's obviously nuts.

For those wondering a length of time, it took around 10 months and I got an offer for 2 tickets today.  Balcony starting at $43 a seat and loge starting at $110 per seat.

I’m confused - I’m a first year STM, and still waiting to hear about my upgrade window. A friend of mine is on this year’s waitlist, and she just got notified that her date to select tickets is this coming Wednesday.

I thought that existing STMs had first choice, before new Members? What’s the story?

Based on this thread, I’m feeling discouraged about my upgrade prospects!

Doesn’t surprise me at all.
I guarantee that wait list dissolved with the teams performance this year combined with increases and the uncertainty of Kyrie.

Sad to say a lot of people joined solely because of him.

Those who joined this year to make a quick buck probably lost a ton of money.

My tickets alone are 30-40% higher in cost for new STMs and I had trouble getting my cost back for a lot of games.

I believe the upgrade date is 3/22, not sure why wait list people get first dibs tho? This is the first year I’ve had tickets while the team had a waitlist.

That said upgrade options are usually slim pickings

Have you already been given your upgrade window? I've heard nothing, but was told that I'd be in the first group this year since my seats were moved involuntarily.

Don't mind at all. Section 9, Row 2. I think it's seats 4 and 5.

Oh wow, nice seats.

I bought a 10 game plan in the AT&T sportsdeck. I like the seats. Tickets were pricey but it was an expense I was willing to incur as I enjoy going to the games.

I had originally called to inquire about a half season plan, but the ticket rep said there was a waiting list and that the first location they would've offered me would likely have been balcony seats (which I really wasn't interested in.)

So I poked around on the Celtics site and saw the sports deck as an option and went for it.

Besides, for me 10 games is more feasible as I don't think I'd be able to make it to 22 home games (or whatever it is.)

I'd be interested in getting an answer on this, but I've used up all of my goodwill with my season ticket rep.

Could you ask your friend to take a screen shot or two, so we can see what they are making available?

Thanks,

You’re only allowed to resell on Ticketmaster with high fees amirite?   Do they monitor that well?  Can you sell them on seatgeek?

Ticketmaster aka NBAtickets.com is the only 'official' reseller. Basically meaning if somebody buys your tickets they are out of your hands. If you sell them through other vendors, stubhub, craigslist etc. and somebody goes and causes a scene you are at risk of losing your tickets.

I've never actually heard that happening to anyone but that's the risk you take. Craigslist is also a f'n grind, it gets exhausting.

You can sell anywhere but, as jbpats noted, if you sell your seats off of TM and the buyer gets in trouble, you can get thrown out. I've also never heard of it happening.

Sadly, the fees on StubHub and TM are now closer than they've ever been. I assure you, it's not because TM lowered their fees. StubHub probably gets a little more traffic than TM, but prices are lower. Added bonus: If you book your tickets through Ebates, you get a 2% rebate (Send me a PM and I'll send you a referral link.).

Okay, here's something that jbpats said that will save you a lot of time and frustration. Don't. Get. Involved. With. Craig's List. There is nothing so frustrating as arguing about $5 for tickets with a person who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're." I would rather pay the $35 to get paper tickets and then use those tickets to give myself a thousand paper cuts than deal with Craig's List again.

Here is a fun craigslist story.

I sold a pair of tickets last year through craigslist and accepted a venmo payment. Long story short the buyer used a fraudulent venmo account and as a result I got banned from Venmo because of it. Fortunately I was able to recoup the tickets, either way it’s made my life that much more difficult in sending money to friends and family.

Haven’t dealt with craigslist since. Place is beyond shady.

Depends on tickets and your cost. A lot of people are selling now so there is a lot less meat on the bone, buyers have a lot of options. Also the later rounds get harder to sell for a profit simply because the cost for us as STM's goes up exponentially, factor in the fees tacked on less people can go or are willing to go
I remember two years ago, anyone trying to sell Cavs/C's ECF tickets got fleeced, there was no interest whatsoever. That was after the 7 game wizards series that was called 'our championship'. People were lucky to get their cost back, i know many did not.

I'm not sure what to expect this year, I think all match-ups are going to be good, so I think interest will be there. But at the end of the day it always comes back to supply and demand.
