If this is true:

Nice move by Chicago getting out of Nocioni's horrendous contract, now if they could only move Hinrich now, they'd be pretty solid shape financially in '10.

Report: Kings send Miller to Bulls for Gooden
Brad Miller - C - SAC - Feb. 18 - 4:38 p.m. ET
TNT's David Aldridge is reporting that the Kings have agreed to send center Brad Miller and swingman John Salmons to the Bulls in exchange for forwards Drew Gooden and Andres Nocioni.
This will be Miller's second stint with the Bulls and he should start at center. Salmons will likely come off the bench in Chicago, Nocioni should come off the bench in Sacramento, while Gooden could start at power forward, or come off the bench behind Jason Thompson. Spencer Hawes now looks like the starting center for the Kings, as soon as this deal is finalized.

ESPN's Chris Sheridan is saying that Ced Simmons is included in the deal.

Great trade for the Bulls, I love Salmons and Miller will be a good big man for their system...Too bad they aren't going anywhere this season.

Playoffs are still within reach, and now they have a decent big man. All they need now is to get rid of Larry Hughes tonight and they could easily make the playoffs.

Wow, big trade for Portland   :o

kidding aside, I think the trade for Salmons/Miller is a good one for Chicago.

why does Sac do this trade?

they save 7 million next yesr but nocioini has 4 more yrd after this yr at 8million.

Makes no sense

They save at least $10M next year by doing this trade.

Short-term they get a bit of a step up in salary dump (over $9 million against none in the outgoing players, if my math is right) now but they do have to carry that 8+ million on Nocioni which is a considerable burden.

Agreed, your saving around $7.5 next yr but then your on the hook for a year more than the salmons deal ( 3 years) and $3 million per yer more than salmons' contract.

Doesn't add up

I'm worried about Geoff Petrie. I'm not sure he's altered his approach in the last few years, I don't think he's taking the salary cap into account as seriously as he should. Odd contracts given, and taken back in trades.
