The Vampire Diaries, new show starting on the CW on Thursdays @ 8pm EST. The show is based on a series of novels by L. J. Smith. The series should be similar to that of
Twilight. To be fair, the novels came way before Twilight. I hear the tv series has made quite a few changes to the novels.
It premieres tonight... and since I'm a sucker for Vampires (swear to God no pun intended) I'll be watching. Hopefully it won't be too chick oriented, and that it contains plenty of action scenes. Main actress looks pleasing to watch though, Nina Dobrev.
Anyone else considering watching this? From what I've read around, it seems to have gotten solid reviews. I'm not a fan of the main actor though, Paul Wesley. I liked his mini series
Fallen though.
Here's a trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5t1V8XG_JEThe Vampire Diaries is based on a novel series penned by L.J. Smith where you are given the insight into the diary of Elena Gilbert. Elena had always been a star student; beautiful, popular and involved with school and friends. As the fall semester begins, Elena becomes fascinated with the mysterious new boy in school, Stefan Salvatore, and she has no way of knowing he is a centuries-old vampire. While Stefan struggles to live peacefully among humans, his brother Damon is the embodiment of violence and brutality. Now these two vampire brothers-one good, the other evil-are at war for Elena's soul in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia.
The show is being produced by Alloy Entertainment and Bonanza Production Inc in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios.
