What happened to Birdman? He hasn't played.
They choose Haslem as their backup C over C.Anderson.
Only one big man on the floor at all times and Haslem is their non-Bosh big. Trying to put as much jump-shooting as possible on the floor to open things up offensively for their slashers (Wade, LeBron). I wonder if Haslem's midrange jump-shot gave him the edge over C.Andersen.
I would've gone with C.Andersen instead of Haslem myself. Kept glued Haslem to the bench.
Anyway, it's been working well for them so far. Kudos to Spoelstra for the lineup changes.
I don't think Parker gets as many looks at the rim if Birdman is playing.
Yeah -- that is why I would go with the Birdman over Haslem as my backup center too if I were Spoelstra ... but I do agree with the only one big man on the floor policy. Especially with Popovich choosing to matchup against my small-ball lineup as often as he has in this series.
I think LeBron + Wade need that extra floor spacing to beat the Spurs defense. I believe they gain more offensively than they lose defensively by playing only one big. Net positive.
