I often bob and weave through the forums and get lost in all the wonderful debate and discussion which takes place at this amazing resource we have as Celtics fans.

Then I am slapped with the deep sting of amazing reality that this is our team:

Starters:
Irving
Brown
Hayward
Tatum
Horford

Bench:
Morris
Smart
Rozier
Theis
Baynes
Ojeleye
Yabusele

I mean that bench is likely an 6-8 seed in the East.

We could be the next dynasty in this league. How sweet would it be to take down another dynasty in GSW? I just can not wait for this season. Pray to God for health and allow this team to develop on the court. Sky is the absolute limit.

Yeah - defend the 3 point line like last year. Get Theis and Baynes to bang with Boogie Cousins, and we are in with a chance.

I have high expectations for this team, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they surpass them and dominate the East and win the title.

This team is stacked. Can play big. Small. Shoot. Attack. Defend. Switch. We have stars and depth, vets and youth.

What a roster Danny has built.

TNQ on the reminder.
Plus we have a coach that can't mess this up.

I'm excited too, but this statement is difficult to agree with.  IMHO, that bench would be lucky to make the playoffs.

It will be nice to have more discussions about basketball and less politics once the season starts, I hope.

1. Boston (rotation 1)
2. Toronto
3. Philadelphia
4. Indiana
5. Washington

6. - 10. Miami, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit (w/ a full season of BG), Boston (rotation 2)

It wouldn't be that unfathomable for that team and that coach to land in the 6-8 range. But thank you for taming my excitement a tad :)

At the very least, our bench team would have the weakest bench in the league
I'm bitter.

i'm ecstatic about this team and just the idea that we're going to have 5 solid players on the court at any point during the game is enough to get me excited.

but please people let's keep it in our pants just a lil' bit. there's a ways to go and a lot of questions to be answered.

at least keep the talk of dynasty out of the conversation until we win at least 1.

There is absolutely no way our bench makes the playoffs.  It is no where near Milwaukee or Miami and frankly Cleveland, Detroit, and Charlotte are all clearly better.  I also wouldn't rule out the bench finishing behind Brooklyn or NY (if the Zinger shows up in 2018).  And if the rookies are any good, Chicago and Atlanta could also be better.  In other words, I think our bench is closer to the worst team in the East then making the playoffs.

It is a good thing our bench isn't our team though.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yeah, I'm on the side that loves our bench ... as a great bench.

But there is no way that an NBA team with this as a starting lineup :

Morris
Smart
Rozier
Theis
Baynes

would likely win even 30 games.   An NBA team with that as a it's starters would be okay defensively, possibly even above average.  But it would probably be the worst offensive starting 5 in the league.

Fortunately, as others have noted:  That is not our starting lineup and that is not even a lineup that is likely to see more than a handful of minutes together at most all season.    Barring injury, Brad will probably keep at least 1 or 2 starters on the floor constantly, except in blowouts.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.
