i used to like hoosiers a lot. then i read an interview with the real life star of the hickory high basketball team, who came out and said that 95% of the movie was made up. that kinda ruined it for me.

white men can't jump is my favorite now.

2 questions:

Is Rebound the movie where Martin Lawrence plays a junior high basketball coach after he kicked the ball as a college coach and it killed the opposing team's eagle mascot?????  Did someone seriously throw that into consideration?

Second is more of a comment.  Are we turning into the "Showtime" lakers.  Haha, we have two guys who starred in big budget Hollywood movies on our roster - Ray in "He Got Game" and Darius Miles in that MTV movie "The Perfect Score" or whatever it is called about the SAT.

Had to go with He Got Game, White Men Can't Jump, Space Jam, and O(Which i don't really consider a basketball movie, but it is really good). My apologies to Hoosiers and Celtics Pride as i have never seen either of them though i am sure they would have made my list.

I have to admit I havn't watched a lot of them. Space Jam was a classic especially I was a kid then.
But Glory Road is by far the best I've seen.

I feel ashamed not to have seen Hoosier, it seems to get very high praises from everyone right?
Apart from Hoosier, any other MUST-SEE basketball movies??
Anything is possible!!!

  • My alter ego
I second Rebound: The Legend of Earl the goat Manigault-another good one

I will also throw out some TV shows: hang time, hangin wit mr cooper, family matters, and fresh prince of bel air

If TV shows are in the mix here, just wanted to throw some love out for White Shadow.  Always good stuff.

The White Shadow needs its own category.  Nothing comes close to it in the way of TV.

I'm baffled by this as well.  Hoop Dreams is an amazing movie.  The majority of the other choices range from guilty pleasure to complete and utter crap.
