Doc rivers 2.0 lol
To
I mean what is the point?? Lol
Fire rivers and sign the junior version
Doc wasn't fired, he quit.
he quit because he was about to be fired
Everyone knows That
You're wrong. He quite because it became a toxic work environment. Maybe you would want to work with the sleazeball that cheated on your daughter and impregnated another woman, most people would not.
Doc showed great character sticking it out for the season, and did the right thing for the team by doing so, but I have no doubts he was blind-sided when Kawhi made it known he would only come if they brought in a star and the only star he could convince to come was Paul George.
People pretending this wasn't the real reason have their heads in the sand.
You really do go to the greatest of lengths to defend Rivers, even though he was obviously and rightfully going to be fired, because he fails as a coach much more often than he succeeds
Jeez, hold a grudge much? Seems like it's been long enough now that people could let go of the bitterness he left us.
Doc clearly went to management and asked out because it was no longer a desirable job. That is what he does. He did the same thing here. The Clippers being willing to oblige is nothing more than doing right by a guy who did a lot for that franchise. They should have played hard ball like Danny and got a pick for him. He steered them through the Sterling fiasco. He made them a perennial playoff team. He put them in a position to where they could be desirable enough to lure Kawhi instead of the Lakers getting him. He's earned every bit of the cache he has around the league.
So yeah, Doc wanting out of that mess of a situation and knowing he could get nearly any job he wants right away is totally the same as getting fired. Sure.....keep your head in the sand.
You sure have some low standards for what a coach could do with these Clippers team. "Perennial playoff team" oh boy, such an accomplishment! Having two MVP candidates in their prime, we're celebrating him getting to the playoffs? Vinny del Negro could (and actually did) get those teams to the playoffs.
Also it's funny how you talk about this Clippers team being an undesirable situation. Huh? How? You have one of the best players in the league, another top 15 player, two sixth man of the year candidates, and a good mix of role players and young players. This team only became undesirable because Doc did an awful job coaching and Kovid Claw and Wayoff P made an appearance at the worst possible moments. This is the equivalent of a person coming into a clean room, making an absolute mess of it, than claiming that the room is too messy and that he wants a clean room.
