For you youngsters out there, Phyllis George was the wife of then Celtics owner John Y Brown during the dark times of the late 70's.

Brown traded three#1 draft picks to the Knicks for Bob McAdoo because George told him to.

It all turned out okay. Brown eventually sold out to Harry Mangurian and Red traded McAdoo to the Pistons for a #1 pick that became Kevin McHale and Robert Parish.

Phyllis George was a pioneer -- a woman national sports broadcaster for the NFL back in the 70's.
Not sure if she was the first female national broadcaster -- but she was very well known back in the day and was a trailblazer.  Also a "Miss America".
