If true, we should sign him to a 2-year deal and potentially have his salary available for trade this summer. Meanwhile maybe he could be solid depth for the remaining games + playoffs.

Two years at the MLE, second year not guaranteed.

Is that even allowed?

Can anyone answer this question?

G-League Maine officially claim former lottery pick Thomas Robinson off waivers. He will be eligible to play today vs. Lakeland. #Celtics have one available roster spot. Maine has four games remaining.

Yes, a deal like this is allowed. However, it would be the taxpayer MLE, and the amount would be prorated.

Most importantly, non-guaranteed salary does not count for salary matching purposes in a trade. The way to handle that would be to make the deal non-guaranteed until, day, September 1. Then, if that players salary is needed in the Davis trade, you simply re-negotiate tha guaranteed date on the contract, moving it up as appropriate.

I doubt this guy that can't get on an NBA roster anywhere else is the answer to any questions the Celtics have.

Bingo.

He was waived by the Hawks and was most recently signed by the Beijing Beikong Fly Dragons.

Although as others suggest he might solve a financial/trade problem in an AD scenario.

I think the Celts should try and sign Christian Wood. He's a good player.

AD trade is about his only use.

What about chris "birdman" andersen? would love to see him on the celtics, I know he is old but he still brings toughness and defense. Just watched his Big3 season highlights I think he still has a little bit left in the tank.

He also is a great teammate from what I heard and definitely a fan favorite  ;D

They just waived him for Tim Frazier.

I've seen speculation that he'll get picked up but it's worth noting that, unlike T-Rob, Christian Wood would not be 2019 playoff eligible.
