Jaylen’s out with a left hip contusion. Hopefully it’s just a rest day for him. I hope Evan’s available to play.

Of course he's out.
I am guessing this is about the Celtics injury luck, but if it isn't, just want to say, Jaylen has played in more games and more minutes than any other Celtic.

Let's hope it's a rest day and nothing more.

Definitely just about the Celtics injury luck.  Jaylen has been my favorite Celtic since he was drafted.  The first and only Celtics jersey I've ever bought was his, and that before he had ever played his first game -- you'll never see me trash him here, even in a moment of pique.  Love the man.

Like you, loved him from day 1.  Join the JB fan club. I might be CS's resident president of it. Lol.

Could see Nesmith starting to have some firepower off the bench and let Fournier run the show with PP.

There is zero chance Nesmith starts.  If, for some reason they don't want Fournier or Smart to start, Grant will get the nod as he has been of late, with Tatum at the 3.

I don't know.  I predict that Grant Williams will start again as he did on Saturday.  Give Fournier a chance to work himself into things by coming off the bench.  It is likely his role anyway so he may as well start getting used to it.  Still like to see starter or close to starter minutes though.  Let Grant bang on Zion for a bit.  Zion is only 1" taller than Grant (albeit also 50 lbs heavier) so he can handle it but tough to ask Tatum or Fournier to take Zion.

Even if Fournier's future role is as a 6th man, they pretty much need to start him the rest of the year if they want any chance of re-signing him.

I think it's going to be a rough few weeks for "the people who hate Brad's lineup tinkering" crowd.

Thats bad news

Celts would have needed everything to beat the Pelicans

Yup....that really sucks the big one

Could really use Thompson’s size /bulk too......

I guess Zion will just posterize poor Grant Williams ....replays all night ...everywhere....I just see coming .  Ugh

Alright, I am not sure I agree but it is true that he has been a starter for several seasons in Orlando.  I don't really see him as a starter but maybe the longer term plan is:

Walker
Fournier
Brown
Tatum
Center (Williams or Thompson)

If that is the case maybe they do start him and bring Smart off the bench which is fine with me.  I still think it is tough to ask Fournier to jump right in as a starter. And for tonight, I still say start Grant Williams.  They played him for 25 min in OKC.

Hah! Yes -- this is a brand new team/brand new rotation, especially considering Rob's (hopeful) promotion to the starting lineup.   I'm looking forward to the tinkering.

Lol. Yeah, most likely.

And the thing is, Brad has had to tinker with this team since day one given injuries and Covid. Now he has to do it again by plugging in new bodies after the trade.

Point being, Brad's tinkering this year, isn't really his fault. Last I checked the Celts were 4th in the league for most starting lineups used this year.

Yeah, the Celtics have a league-high 106 player-days missed to Covid so far, and with Tristan and Romeo still out, that will keep growing.  Add to that Kemba's missing back-to-backs, (8 in the 35 games since he returned from injury) and the various other injuries that crop up in any season, and lineup tinkering is an absolute necessity.  Compare that to the Jazz, who's top 9 players have missed 17 total games combined.  It's no wonder when we played them a couple of weeks ago they looked like they knew where they were supposed to be on the court and what their teammates would do.
