As others have said, if he had more lift, things would be better.  I mean the guy can barely dunk the basketball, which means there's no chance he's dunking in traffic.

Aside from blocks, he also misses a ton of shots inside because he's awkwardly throwing it up or having his shot altered by a shot blocker.

I don't know what this means going forward unless he changes his body type.  This has been a problem his whole career.  Looking back at 2008, he was more successful against the smaller (and aging Pistons) and the matador Lakers than he was against the tall and athletic Cavs (who both, at times, had lineups that likely featured 4 players on the court all taller than Baby).

For the playoffs, it likely means that we will need something out of Rasheed, especially against better and bigger teams.

the real reason why his percentage is so high for being blocked is that he is being asked to do what Powe used to do last year.  Leon while not always making the shot was able to draw fouls on the opposing bigs.  Hopefully Baby will learn how to do that because he is going to get blocked a lot until he finds a shot like that baby hook that won't get blocked.  He needs a signature move down there.

The problem is that he's not being asked to do this at all, and neither was Powe. These are both flaws that kill our offense at times, and Doc doesn't like it when it happens.

BBD needs some moves:  hooks, floaters, using the glass better, quick release stuff, etc.

Crazy idea of the day:  Toine working in player development?  he had those moves down low, and little in the way of hops...and was effective down there, too.  Nothing against the current excellent staff, but BBD can't "go up strong" or whatever-it isn't working.  He needs a non-traditional bag o' tricks to get better down there.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale

One shudders at the thought of what type of shot selection Antoine would teach BBD. ;)
