Man, that deal is going to kill Houston. Houston is done. Harden is leaving. 12 months from now, Harden is out the door.

Wall is finished. Torn achilles for a speedy guard who over-relies on his athleticism and has failed to further develop his skill-level for years? No way. He's not coming back anywhere near where he left off of.

Houston is done and Harden is out the door 12 months from now.

Eric Gordon fits into our shiny new TPE 🤔

15% trade kicker for Wall.  That’s a nice bonus, as is moving to a state with no income tax.
Doesn’t a kicker kick in only if Wall is making less than 35% of the cap? In other words the kicker was there in case he gets traded and the cap increased to like 135mil or something like that... but because the cap is still at 109 and wall makes 41mil he won’t get the extra $6M... I might be wrong on that..

A trade that won’t move the needle for either team.
This puts Washington in the running for the 7-8 seed and really doesn’t add much for Houston in the west.
I guess it’s a hope and pray it makes the other guys happy kind of trade
Wash will need more than Beal and Westbrook to make the playoffs.  still unproven they can co-exist productively
They have some decent players around them.  Wall and Beal were a mid to upper 40's wins duo for several years.  I think Westbrook is better than Wall and Beal is a better player now then he was when Wall was last healthy.  I like Bertans as a 3rd option and they have competent players like Bryant, Lopez, and Smith with some ok young guys like Hachimura.  And there are really only 7 good teams in the East, so Washington could absolutely beat out the Hawks, Magic, and Hornets for that 8th spot (and who knows what the Nets will actually look like).

I actually think this puts Washington in the playoffs and since they were never going to be terrible or have cap room, I like them making the move.

No, only one of these teams gained a 1st round pick.

Edit: It's a heavily protected 1st, so maybe not even a 1st...yeah maybe they both lose

BTW, in August Wall looked to be moving pretty well.  Obviously not game action, but doesn't look like a guy that is struggling with an injury either.

The Celtics lost this "trade" because it made an eastern conference foe stronger, a low-seeded playoff team.

I like Atlanta's moves better and think they take that last spot.

Are the Rockets better by turning Covington and Westbrook into Wall and  Wood?

No, right? I mean, its just a matter of time before Harden is traded now, right?
