A trade that won’t move the needle for either team.
This puts Washington in the running for the 7-8 seed and really doesn’t add much for Houston in the west.
I guess it’s a hope and pray it makes the other guys happy kind of trade
Wash will need more than Beal and Westbrook to make the playoffs. still unproven they can co-exist productively
They have some decent players around them. Wall and Beal were a mid to upper 40's wins duo for several years. I think Westbrook is better than Wall and Beal is a better player now then he was when Wall was last healthy. I like Bertans as a 3rd option and they have competent players like Bryant, Lopez, and Smith with some ok young guys like Hachimura. And there are really only 7 good teams in the East, so Washington could absolutely beat out the Hawks, Magic, and Hornets for that 8th spot (and who knows what the Nets will actually look like).
I actually think this puts Washington in the playoffs and since they were never going to be terrible or have cap room, I like them making the move.
