Right?

Thank you Bruins. I can die in peace now.

And don't anyone forget in addition to rings by every pro team there were three hockey championships by BC.

Further evidence that Boston is the greatest sports town of all time by a lot

did you even notice Beckett threw a one hitter tonight and that the Sox have the best record in the AL?   Probably not, right?

The Pats now have the longest championship drought of any of the Boston area teams.  Losers.

Oh yeah. It feels a little hollow, but the decade also featured the only ever 16-0 season. Almost forgot about that.

I love being a Bostonian!!! We've been so spoiled by all of these wins. I was thinking about Cleveland or Minneapolis in this past decade, or even Pittsburgh (I"m sure we can name a lot more). Some have seen no success, while others have seen lots. I wish the Celtics had won more though (I know I know selfish)

I can not WAIT to bump into a New Yorker and be like "What's it like to have only one team that's good at a time if even?"

If you live in New England (unless you're one of those New Yorker wannabes from southern Connecticut) this is your birth right.

Also, NY has 2x the number of teams we do (Islanders & Rangers, Knicks & Nets (kind of), Mets & Yankees, Jets & Giants). Like one good team out of eight..... we have 4/4.

  • Thank you Eddie!
I feel like the Bruins winning the Cup in a game 7 the way they did heals the wounds from game 7 of the Finals last year, even though I will always wonder what if Perk never got hurt in game 6 of that series.

If Beckett threw a perfect game tonight, I don't think anyone would notice.

Plus Harvard won Ivy League championships in 01, 04,07, and 08

Plus some UConn dominance, both men and women

Also David Ball on UNH broke Jerry Rice's touchdown record

Also Matt Ryan was NFL ROY

It occurred to me today that this decade saw years that would be good for any other city, but was awful for us.

Getting within minutes of another ring down a man to injury?  Big deal.

Losing an AFC championship game? What a cruddy year

Losing a Super Bowl on a miracle play?  We're totally rebuilding now.

Beating Lebron causing him to throw up his hands, say "I can't do this" and switch teams in legendarily bad fashion?  Kinda  a let down year.

What a phenomenal decade
