Lamar got 49 of 50 votes, the other was for Josh Allen who finished 5th.  Maybe someone's voting should be revoked.  I don't know that Lamar should have bee.n unanimous, but Josh Allen, come on. Ridiculous.

Probably because of this:

Jackson finished 11th with 24 touchdown passes and 15th in passing yards (3,678) to become the first MVP to rank outside the top 10 in both of those categories.
he got 49 of 50 votes though. My objection was to Josh Allen. The person that voted for Allen should lose voting rights.  That is a ridiculous vote

Why?   Allen threw for 29 TDs and ran for 15 TDs.   He was 3rd in TDs.
he also threw 18 INT's and fumbled 7 times and was mediocre at best for more than half the season.  He closed the season well.

Here are the CMP%, TD%, INT%, Y/A, and Y/C for Allen and Jackson

66.5, 5.0, 3.1, 7.4, 11.2
67.2, 5.3, 1.5, 8.0, 12.0

In other words, Lamar was better and more efficient throwing the ball and it isn't close.  Josh just had way more attempts with 579 to 457.  So because of volume, that is silly, especially since the Ravens were the better team.

Now Josh had way more rushing TD's at 15 to 5, but that is largely because the Ravens went to Gus Edwards near the goal line and the Bills didn't have that sort of running back. Lamar had way more total rushing yards and a higher yard per rush, so again Lamar the better rusher.

This is a guy that was getting cute with numbers to be different rather than being accurate (he eliminated Purdy because Jimmy G was good, so he was fine not using the numbers when it suited him).

Josh Allen getting a 1st place MVP vote is ridiculous. A handful of players were more deserving.  He should have his vote revoked.

Passing yards count, as do TDs.

It's like posting FG%, 3PT%, FT%, and TS% and saying Hauser is the best player on the team, because we should ignore volume.

Isn't this the pot calling the kettle black, huh?

I don't agree with Schatz but it's really not egregious as you think it is.

he was 26 of 50 ballots, so barely half had him in their top 5.  He never should have gotten a 1st place vote.  Even the 5 that voted him 2nd are highly questionable votes. Reminds me of Kessler getting 2 1st place votes for rookie of the year last year.

The fact that Rodney Harrison didn't make it is a joke.  I know he wasn't best with the media but he's a HOFer.

Nice to see Hester get in.

The HOF really limits itself with the "only five modern inductees" rule.

Three Bears:  Hester, Peppers, and Mondo McMichael.

I am glad that Mongo is still alive to see himself get in the HOF.  Too often these veteran candidates get in after the fact.

Did you see this story?  It's a tear-jerker.

The Bears at +200 just seems crazy to me.

Happened right at the end, near the stage where the players were. Most of those hurt were apparently kids  :-\

There's a special place in hell for those who commit -- and enable -- these crimes.
