Amazing 3rd quarter. They just looked tentative and weird in the first half - glad they were able to come out of the half on fire on both sides of the ball. Great way to start the series!  ;D

the favorite s do need to get that monkey off their shoulders early and get the win.  Was very important to their fragile comfidence , to know the mojo was still with them.

Nice to see the Celtics ratchet up the defense today

Kawhi is the best playoff performer in the East, but we got a glimpse of what Kyrie's capable of doing (as the 2nd best in the East). Raptors and C's have tremendous depth as well which helps them compared to teams like PHI or even MIL. If 1 or 2 shooters struggle for MIL, their team is vulnerable.

I still think TOR bounces back and wins their series, probably in 5 or 6, and MIL in 5. I think we win this series in 5 or 6. PHI though could truly be on upset watch if Embiid is truly limited this series.

Kyrie has had a pretty good game on D. He's held his own...

He had some very nice defensive isolations where he stood his ground and/or triggered a turnover. I would like to see how he played, team-defense-wise over the course of the game. Did he lose his guy, allow too many blow-bys, not block the point guard off the boards, not rotate properly ?  You could ask the same things about Tatum as well. Game film would tell the answers.

So as of right now the Celtics are the only Eastern home team to win a home game.

Hope Milwaukee gets upset tonight. Let's keep it that way.

Just amazed at the tremendous defensive effort by C's. The Pacers played some great defense as well.

I thought this would be a series where Boston wins in 4 or 5 with most games not being close. Celtics took control and turned it into a blowout in the 4th. This was not a 10 point game. Still think they win this series very easily.

Yeah. When IND players were missing some make-able shots in the 3rd and we were extending our lead, that is where IND missed Oladipo the most. His absence will hurt them and I still think we'll take the series in 5. But got to prepare for Game 2. I expect IND will now give us their best shots these next two games and there is two days off in-between.

Celtics defense overcame Kyrie's ball dominance today. Too much standing around by the other players watching Curley Neal.

great to get the first win but not a good game by the C's.  2 reasons they won in the second half:
1. they stopped turning the ball over every other trip down the court
2. The ice cold shooting they experienced in the first half was happening to Indy in the second.

C's couldn't shoot the entire game.   only thing that saved them in the second half was not chucking 3's all the time like they did in the first half.

hoping they play a helluva lot better next game.  this level of play may get them by Indy but it'll kill them against Milwaukee.

I don't think I missed 3 games all season, but I missed today's (and The Masters) in favor of a day with my wife.  These Sunday 1:00 games are terrible for me.  We had a nice day so I don't regret it, and I'm glad the C's won.  Sounds like they turned up the defense in the 3rd.

Jaylen had only 2 points -- just wasn't aggressive today?

I hate the Curly Neal dribbling shows (Kyrie, Terry, sometimes Morris) -- really think this takes the other players out of the offense and leads to awkward offense.  Did Kyrie do any of his lazy no-look behind the back leaves for his teammates?  That is probably the move that aggravates me the most -- fools his teammates as much as it fools the opposition.

Not a perfect game but a perfect result.

As always, this team will live and die based on the intensity they bring on defense.

Here's hoping the offense straightens out next game and they'll really be all right.

Good win today boys. It seemed nothing was going right and Indiana was getting all the breaks in the first half. Morris came in big when we needed him and hayward was steady. Kyrie was great in the 3rd quarter. Our guys just have to realize they need to play 48 and are not winning without the effort. 2nd half they gave it. A little chippiness between Brown & Bogdonavic which I like. Brown and especially Hayward pretty much shut him down without Smart. Better effort to START next game without the stupid turnovers and we should dominate. Great win.
