I dunno, McCollum is their worst defender. Big indictment of his defence that they try and hide him more than old Melo

Melo actually seems like one of their better defenders.  And I'm not calling him a good defender, either.  That roster is just that bad defensively.

Melo benefits from just being physically larger. If you are going to be a bad defender its better to be  6'8 bad defender than a 6'3 bad defender.

Yeah, Melo is tall and strong. McCollum is 6'4" with a 6'6" wingspan yet can't defend guards nor wings

Melo is an awful defender. Too old and slow to defend wings and modern 4's, to small to defend legit bigs. He spends most of the game getting beat by his guy and complaining to the refs after he reaches in.

Sure, but the comparison was to CJ McCollum, not a statement about whether he's actually good at defense.

Yeah, compared to CJ, Melo may as well be Rudy Gobert

Man Lillard is just something else. Crazy deep threes, (...)
Remember Lillard's crazy deep 3 that led to an easy dunk by Brown in transition? Lillard is amazing, but shooting from 30+ feet can easily backfire whenever the shot doesn't go in. Longer shots usually yield longer rebounds, hence it's more likely for the opposing team to score easy points in transition.

Lillard is fun to watch. No doubt about that. If you ask me, he ain't playing smart/winning basketball.

Anyway, I enjoyed the game. Didn't watch Friday's game against the Bucks. It was great to see the C's back in action!

What I didn't enjoy is watching Nurkic score 30 points in 32 minutes. Theis was all over the place on D. If he cannot handle Nurk, it's safe to say that he cannot handle Embiid either. Not that we didn't already know about that. It's just that we may face Embiid in the first round.

Its ptobably harder to gameplan for Nurkic since you have lillard while the Sixers are mostly about embiid and also dont have as much spacing.

Exactly. Portland have the 2nd best shooting back-court in the NBA. Philly... do not

Hey everybody, I've just been given the word to cancel the

Jason Tatum unconditional release documents I was asked to prepare the other day?

Going to hang onto him for another game or two?

It's definitely day-to-day. One more bad game and I'm trading him for Jahlil Okafor.

Jahlil Okafor? You will be lucky to get a bag of peanuts for him.

Is 8 assists a career high for Tatum?

His growth as a passer is very important for our future, so I'm encouraged by that.

It felt like 3/4 of those were to Jaylen. It was basically Tatum gets doubled or pressured, and he made the correct play to get it to the open guy who seemed to be Jaylen this game. Its big this season for Tatum to be able to find the right guy when he's doubled.

I was right!

He was more proactive in looking to pass last night (at least from what I watched, I missed the second half) so that's a massive plus.

From thehighlights looks like unreal shooting from Portland. They had lots of long threes and threes with a hand in their face going in

Yeah, it was basically a Lillard just catching fire

And Gary Trent. 7-11 from 3pt and several were well-contested. Good thing Brown was hot in the 4th and did the same thing at the other end.
