When the C’s step up to their elite defensive intensity level and simultaneously put their opponents on their heels trying to defend an aggressive C’s offense, this team can crush the will of the opposition.   The defense generates such energy and confidence it’s a great thing to behold.

When the Celtics have Smart at PG, Brown at SG and Tatum at SF, their defense, when they turn it up is a thing to behold. That starting unit just beat the heck out of Philly last night and it was all because of the defense.

Very encouraging game from Brown.  Often he gets his 20 by playing off of the other guys - being a finisher rather than a creator.  But last night, he went out and did it himself.

Also, he has struggled against the perimeter defense of Philly this year.  Arguably his three worst games of the season were all against them.  He got some redemption last night.  And that’s important, because I feel like our losses to Philly this year - despite the narrative - were due more to the struggles of our perimeter guys than to the quality of our bigs.

The scheduling fluke of the previous two games helped a bit in Philly winning those games too.

This season 7 guys have been named player of the week more than once. Giannis, Lebron, Davis, Siakam, Harden, Lillard and Jaylen Brown.

Six All-Stars and Jaylen.  I should’ve been able to say “Seven All-Stars.”

Nice story about Brown and the effect he had on some kids from his alma mater(HS) by lending a bit of his time to help increase reading grades. The students and faculty/admin people at the school really love the guy and how Brown talks about needing education to be successful, etc.

Anyone else think it's odd that he's still planning to play tomorrow (listed probable) with both ankles compromised

Sort of, but presumably the medical staff doesn’t think that he has significant risk of further injuring himself.  Sometimes it’s good to play a little hurt — people often say “if it’s the playoffs, X would be playing.”  But how do you prepare yourself for those moments without going through it a few times during the year?

He can rest for a week beginning Friday.

Exactly, he's young and I fully believe the medical staff has been pretty conservative this year.

Personally I'd step up the hyperbole.

7 guys- 3 MVPs, 3 All-NBA guys this year, and Jaylen who is 3-13 years younger than any of the others.

TP for sharing that nugget Keevs, it's pretty much an optimist's dream.

I think Jaylen is a 3-way star, if you include his off court endeavors.  But perhaps that title may give folks the wrong ideas...
