  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Every episode they have 1 or 2 (tops 2) good song or songs.

This past week it was "friends"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVoCJJFuS60

Last week it was..I dunno which one it was last week,

The week before that though, they had 2:

Sugarlumps:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BV0RL7vK44E&feature=related

and the Kinks/Sting 80's reggae song, "You don't have to be a prostitute"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS5MfzUrhww&feature=related

They are legitimately passable musicians at like every genre. Except rap.

But seriously that last song is the bomb diggity. Whats your favorite?

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

"They call me the Hiphopopotomus, my lyrics are bottomless, ..." might be my favorite moment in the whole series.

Side note, I just watched "Eagle Vs. Shark" it's a movie from New Zealand starring Jemaine. Very different from the show, but I liked it. His character is a bit of a ripoff of Napolean Dynamite, but different enough to enjoy.

I lent someone my season 1 DVD. Watched every episode a few times, laughed every time.

This one was so hilarious, on the first episode I watched, that I kept watching last season ... only to be disappointed in the rest of the shows.  Just never quite as funny as this song.

I used to think Seinfeld, SNL and MAdTV were the funniest shows on TV.

FoC is on another level.

The IT Crowd and Peep Show are pretty good too. Clone is just OK.

A friend just gave me Season 1.  I watched the first two episodes last night.  It took me a little while to "get it" and accept it for what it was, but yeh, I like it.  The lyrics are great.  The band manager is awesome. I loved them explaining the chicken and the egg scenario to him.

Brett moving up in the sign holding businessman world was humorous too.

Funny stuff.  Probably watch some more tonight.
Yup

Ive seen all the episodes.  It's hit or miss, really...

HOnestly they are infinitely better live.  I don't know why, but they have so much more personality and the songs sound so much better when they are performing them.  They had an HBO concert special before the TV show... you can find a lot of the youtube videos online.

A couple of my favorites are Jenny:

and Albi the Racist Dragon:

Btw... I still think the best song on the show was the very first song in the very first show... "Part Time Model"

oh... and one last thing... the best episode they ever did was the David Bowie episode.

Conchords are awesome, but marginally less awesome in Season 2.  I thought I heard they weren't going to do a season 3, which I would be fine with; it's nice when shows don't drag on longer than they should.

For some reason I always loved "Cheer Up Murray"

Can't forget about "Frodo, Don't Wear The Ring"...the magical bling bling  ;D

The rap breakdown of the song is the illest.. " I don't rap about bi%ch@s and h@es I rap about witches and trolls..."

I was a Monkees fan growing up and Flight of the Conchords gives me that same feeling of nostalgia when I watch it, good stuff!!!

What do you mean "marginally less awesome in season 2"?? You know, I bet your saying that causes the boys to "got hurt feelings"....
