Kansas guard Devon Dotson was among the draft-eligible prospects to work out for the Celtics on Thursday, tweets Sean Deveney of Sporting News.

According to Deveney, Dotson is still mulling the possibility of returning to the Jayhawks and will make his decision before the NCAA’s May 29 withdrawal deadline.

Wonder if its possible for the Celtics to trade up in this draft.

Assuming Kyrie leaves, walking away from draft night with

Bruno Fernando (projectd at Charlottes pick)
Alexander Walker (14th)
Thybulle (22nd)

would be a great haul.
A long Center with alot of energy, a long PG who plays on BOTH ends and a defensive wing. Would pair very well with Brown and Tatum.

Hard to say what Horford would do on a team with all rookies, and I think Hayward would need to be traded for certain. But an intriguing lineup

Alexander Walker
Brown
Tatum
Horford
Fernando

Smart
??
Thybulle
??

6’8” wing span not a concern?

not when you can jump like that, and that quickly off the ground.  He also has a nice motor, looks wiry strong and underrated IQ

this said, you don't build a team around a guy like this

But paired with an Al Horford (3 and D) for example, he would be a very good complimentary piece

Celtics were weak at grabbing rebounds, weakside rebounding, offensive rebounding, shot blocking and getting buckets near the basket/FT line.    Clarke can do many of these things and do it well....but also works with CBS small ball system

Looks good. If he has a quarter of the heart that IT has, he would be a steal!

Really???

He will have the same issues on the defensive end. I guess off the bench as a sparkplug, it would be ok

He isn't the same player. He plays more physical and long arms for his height. He did well at NBA and G league scrimmages. He is getting workouts with a bunch of teams so sure he will at least get a two way contract.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I can jump in here, as I've done a bit of research into Chris Clemons.

Here is a link to his stats: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/chris-clemons-2.html

Similar game to IT. Lots of shots, including a crazy amount of 3's, and the ability to generate free throws. He never really had anyone to pass to that was any good, besides Marcus Burk for one season, so we haven't really got a good idea of his playmaking.

He was a lot more efficient than college IT was, but IT was the 60th pick for a reason. Similar defensive struggles, but Clemons isn't too bad at getting steals here and there.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

I think the shot at good players, diamonds in rough, dries up around pick 40.....which is much later than usual.  In other words, better than usual chance at very good player in early second round.

Samanic, Horton Tucker, bigs who fall, Windler, Porter Jr. if he falls, Roby, Paschall,  some guys worth a chance in there if we use up all our first rounders in trade and need to attain an early second.

My current wishes if we keep our firsts:

14.  Little, Bruno Fernando, Okpala, Alexander-Walker
20.  PJ Washington
22.  Grant Williams

Don't mind having both Washington and G. Williams.  Williams is a bit bigger (heavier) and they could play together in a smaller unit at center and power forward.

They are both intense, high IQ, leaderly types who can shoot from outside (especially Washington as a shooter). They can help direct Robert Williams on defense...be great in the locker room, learn from Horford very quickly, and add the toughness the Celtics will need.

Any combo of guys above would excite me on draft night.

If there is some way team gets Davis and still keeps pick 14, then Little is my top choice. COllege did not suite him and I think he will be another of those late lott/non lotto players that in a couple years time people question why 13 teams passed on him

I like him too.  Seems like a tough team player who has upside.  It will be tough to keep that pick.   It the main parts of an AD trade are Tatum, Smart, Grizzlies pick there is a chance I guess.

Wonder if RW3 could be subbed for #14 in an AD deal and added to Tatum, Smart, Memphis and say #20 (and maybe a future 1st).

NO could use a big man to replace Davis and RW3 would be a potential lottery pick this year.  I think he has some upside as a shooter from 10-15 feet out at least (with some work and time invested), which they would probably need if he's to be paired with Zion.

I think there could be a few intriguing options at #14 if we can trade for AD and keep that pick, but most of you know more than I do this year.

EDIT - Some ideas at #14 include guys mentioned here.  Little & Reddish (already taken?), Clarke & Washington (reaches?), Bol, Bruno, Walker?

If we deal Tatum, Smart and RW3 (and Yabu) & 1-2 firsts, and end up keeping say picks #14 and #22, drafting BPA at any position looks fine.

good  breakdown

plus can do this... so the little guy can fly.   If he is there at 51,  I wouldn't hesitate to draft him

How I came about finding Chris Clemons is researching top stat leaders in Free Throw made last season

Celtics had very little happening at the FT line last season, which was one of the imbalance of the team.

Found another gem in Jeremiah Martin. Top 10 in FTs made/attempted.  6'3 PG, smooth athlete.  But older and a little on the slim side like Will Barton, Malik Monk.   The cool thing, is his FT/FTA numbers, meaning he is not shy of contact.   Perhaps another candidate at 51

highlights #3 Jeremiah Martin PG
