Are we really doing this? Brogdon was not helpful pretty much most of the playoffs last year, largely because he was injured. And guess what, he was injured with a season-ending injury yet again this year. So not sure how helpful that would've been.

As for Smart, I'm not even sure how he is brought up here, as we traded Smart for KP months before getting Jrue, so it was never even a possibility.

But, no, we wouldn't be better with Smart either. While Jrue has been somewhat disappointing in the playoffs thus far, I don't think Smart would be very helpful with this group either.

As many on here know, I've been critical of the extension because of Jrue's age and downward trajectory, but you make that trade every single time without giving it a second thought.  The team is simply better with Jrue and KP than it is with Smart, Brogdon, and Rob.

Agree with both posts above. If you were expecting Holiday to take his game to another level in the playoffs I have to presume you’re having a Shaq moment: you were unfamiliar with his game.

Let’s presume that this season unfolds the same way, with us keeping Marcus and Rob but that they’re now both out - would you rather have Holiday? Of course you would.
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

I think it is OK to concede that more than one thing is true at the same time.  It is true that Jrue has not played as well as I expected.  He is really not that much better than Smart or Brogdon were last season.  Now I understand, both have been injured this season, we are better for having Jrue, that is true, but it is also true that he has not been as good as I had hoped and probably not as good as the team thought, when you consider what they gave up.

And as others have said, the debate should be Holiday + Porzingis vs. Smart + Brogdon.  There is no question that these were good moves, that the team is better for it.  But I thought we would see more out of Holiday, even considering his adjusted team role.
