Lamar got 49 of 50 votes, the other was for Josh Allen who finished 5th. Maybe someone's voting should be revoked. I don't know that Lamar should have bee.n unanimous, but Josh Allen, come on. Ridiculous.
Probably because of this:
Jackson finished 11th with 24 touchdown passes and 15th in passing yards (3,678) to become the first MVP to rank outside the top 10 in both of those categories.
he got 49 of 50 votes though. My objection was to Josh Allen. The person that voted for Allen should lose voting rights. That is a ridiculous vote
Why? Allen threw for 29 TDs and ran for 15 TDs. He was 3rd in TDs.
he also threw 18 INT's and fumbled 7 times and was mediocre at best for more than half the season. He closed the season well.
Here are the CMP%, TD%, INT%, Y/A, and Y/C for Allen and Jackson
66.5, 5.0, 3.1, 7.4, 11.2
67.2, 5.3, 1.5, 8.0, 12.0
In other words, Lamar was better and more efficient throwing the ball and it isn't close. Josh just had way more attempts with 579 to 457. So because of volume, that is silly, especially since the Ravens were the better team.
Now Josh had way more rushing TD's at 15 to 5, but that is largely because the Ravens went to Gus Edwards near the goal line and the Bills didn't have that sort of running back. Lamar had way more total rushing yards and a higher yard per rush, so again Lamar the better rusher.
This is a guy that was getting cute with numbers to be different rather than being accurate (he eliminated Purdy because Jimmy G was good, so he was fine not using the numbers when it suited him).
Josh Allen getting a 1st place MVP vote is ridiculous. A handful of players were more deserving. He should have his vote revoked.
