In the last five games he is shooting 35% from the field and 23% from three.

After tonight game he is now shooting 44.5%  from the field, while Jaylen has climbed back up to 44.3%.

Looks like he learned from Kobe over the summer

I think Kobe ruined him.
probably purposely too. Tatum looked like someone to challenge Kobe’s records
I love JT, but Kobe is 3rd in all time points. Are you referring to that record??

I can’t shake the feeling he is so uncomfortable with the catch-and-shoot compared to last year.

Seems like he just has to put the ball on the floor to create his own shot.

I know being a spot-up shooter won’t make the highlight reel, but it’ll get your team points all the same.

I think the playoff run, the dunk over LeBron, the attention from Kobe has made him a little selfish.

I still like him and know the potential is there. He just needs to tap into it completely as a Pelican.

You definitely got me. So many wild takes flying around here have ruined my ability to detect jokes ;D

You gave me a hearthy chuckle. I would give you a TP if I knew how.

Why do people talk so much about Kobe?  Didn't Tatum do something like two workouts with him?  He spent the summer working with Hanlen.

I think Tatum's idolising of Kobe plays a definite part, but you're right. People just love to hate Kobe

Missed today's game - and the last few to be honest.

But in the Grizz game he played good defense and made good hustle plays. Hopefully he has continued this, despite being in a scoring drought?

I thought Tatum played an awful game last night. After an acceptable 1st half, the commentators were giving him all sorts of praise. But, to me, it looked like he was just a total ball-hog pretty much exclusively taking shots that were not within the offense. Then the 2nd half came and it all came crashing down to earth. I get that we were without Kyrie and Morris, but he was really forcing things out there when it wasn't necessary.

After tonight game he is now shooting 44.5%  from the field, while Jaylen has climbed back up to 44.3%.

That is a really interesting stat - tp (#100!). Jaylen, on the other hand, looked completely in control and had the MJ fadeaway going all night. I still want to see him take it to the rim more (both he and Tatum!), but I love the way Jaylen is playing lately. It seems he and Hayward may finally be gaining more confidence.

Tatum has two assists in the last five games.

Brad kept running plays for him, but his one on one game is not the same as last year.

He needs to go back and look at video of what he was doing last year.

Did you watch those workouts, he made everything twice as complex as it needed to be.   Tatum had a fine shots, and got it off last year most of the time.  Kobe added some bad habits in those workouts that complicate his shot.

For me this year is almost what I expected his rookie year to look like. If you go back to his college games you would have expected this kind of play. But his rookie year he was way different and super efficient. He needs to get back to fast moves/decisions less hesitation.
