I blame Joe for this one. I don’t want to hear about who was missing or a back to back. You have a 7 point lead midway through the 4th and you lose with some seriously poor coaching decisions.

What the hell happened ?

I had to leave the game for 20 minutes, we were up 10 and I come back just now to see us losing with not even a second left !!!!!!

Cs had a 6 minute scoring drought. They ran out of steam and Miami started hitting shots. Highsmith’s 4-4 from 3 was a nice boost to Miami - mostly, it was Bam.

this game perfectly demonstrates why brad hasn’t removed the interim tag from joe’s title (brad knows what he’s seeing). it’s also interesting that ime is still on the payroll…

Still don't believe in Joe.

Tatum yukking it up with Bam,
Yeah, I know, the players are different now days, but that was a gut punch loss.
He didn't look upset at all.

I don't care if you are playing the game in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 2000's or now.
A bad loss should hurt.

Mazzulla is terrible in these situations..

I can’t believe he would coach this way in the playoffs. It must be his determination to use live game situations as teaching moments win or lose

You're giving him way too much credit at this point.

And even if it is that, that's ridiculous. You don't lose games like this because you "want to teach them a lesson".

I’m just going off what he said in one of the early games where his timeout philosophy was brought up in the presser and he essentially said he is prepared to lose games if it means he can expose them to moments where they have to think for themselves on the court. I will look for it, I posted it here earlier but since the search function doesn’t work I will have to find it manually

I remember seeing a pre game interview where he said exactly that. But i think he should pick his spots also. This was a very winnable game.

This game shows that Brad must update the bench. Trade for a big or wing and sign a big or wing on the buyout market.

Too many guys on the bench that just aren’t playoff caliber players

Joe's defenders will cite our winning record as proof of his coaching prowess.

Those of us who actually watch every game see his shortcomings.  He's not nearly as good as our record indicates, just fortunate to have inherited a very talented roster.  Give us a real coach like Popovich and we're hanging banner 18 this year.

I hope some of the reporters call out Joe in the interviews for this timeout nonsense. It's just mind-boggling at this point. The majority of our losses Joe's mismanagement has played a major role in.

We can't just give Joe a year or two to fix his incompetence at in-game management. At the very least, Brad needs to upgrade the bench around Joe to provide more coaching experience, because Joe clearly doesn't know what he's doing within the games.

Perk is getting stuck into Joe Mazz for his lack of coaching  :police:

Scal trying to defend Joe Mazz staying they had a 10 pt lead but then went cold which didn’t seem to be a coaching issue

Perk then telling Scal to shut up saying it was the missed timeout that led to the loss :police:

I mean did Tatum think the game was tied?
Tatum looked so tired and was clearly trying to give the ball to his teammates. First the lob to Rob that was so telegraphed that Bam blocked it. And then the refusal to shoot the 3 before the hard double and the desperate heave that was stolen.

He actually looked at Joe while he was at the back court, as if asking him if he was gonna call a timeout. That’s just poor coaching.

Then Tatum should have called the timeout himself.  He is the team leader, he should do it.

I do recall him saying that as well.  The reason it stuck with me is that I found that just absolutely absurd

Perk's calling out Joe for that end-of-game stupidity in the post game show.  good for him.  even Scal didn't agree with not calling a TO
