Meanwhile the same Knicks team we lost to a few days ago is now down double digits to a Nets team with no Durant + Simmons

Not ideal that we’re in a bit of a slump just as it seems MIL, PHI, BKN are heating up

It’s Philly that is actually heating up, going 9-1 in their last 10. BKN lost to Detroit previously and are 4-6 in their last 10. Milwaukee and Boston are both 7-3. I think it’s safe to say that we have cooled down from our blistering start that put some separation between us and the previously mentioned teams. Now we’re all bunched together. Hopefully we go into a nice little run to reverse his 3 game losing streak.

Sixers and nets both win. Pressure on the C’s now.

Shams Charania: Myles Turner and Pacers reach agreement to keep Turner under contract through 2024-25 season, salaries as followed, per sources: – $35 million this season ($18M salary plus $17M of Pacers’ salary space) – $20.9M in 2023-24 – $19.9M in 2024-25 Total: 2 additional years, $58M.

Good deal for both sides, I think.  Indiana wasn't doing anything with their cap space this year, and the two remaining years should be easily moveable in the future.

They have a few backup bigs that may be obtainable.  Bitaze and Smith.  I'm sure they want to develop Jackson.  I think smith would be a good get.  He's cheap, signed for the next few years and fits into the tpe the cs have.

Even Bitzade might be worth a look.

Does this mean that to trade him they have to match $34 million. I don’t recall ever seeing that before. A contract changing mid season. I would think this makes it less likely they trade him.  But the salary matching scenarios are completely different now.

Ben Simmons continues to be out with "knee soreness". Meanwhile he sits on the sideline with these wacky getups (and remember Game 3 against us last season what he was wearing) and clearly doesn't seem like he rushes back to anything even if the team needs him. If he's not back tomorrow then I honestly wonder if he'll even return before the All-Star Break

If I were a Nets player I'd be pretty furious at him and for the fact that he's on the team lol

OKC did it with Perk after they traded for him.  I can’t think of any other examples.

I like Tyrese Maxey coming off the bench. Melton gives that starting lineup better balance. Allows Harden more time on the ball. Better defensive lineup. Maxey as a super-sub scorer, love it.

Mavs now 0-6 without Luka this season.

Ugh.  He would help them.

Hopefully they have to at least give up a rotation player, like Grayson Allen.  Adding Crowder without taking anything away other than something like George Hill / Ibaka and picks would hurt.

They probably will have to give away someone of use.  It’s hard to make the salaries work otherwise.  The Suns aren’t interested in taking back three trash salaries.
