I feel the receivers don't mean much without the proper OL.   Speed doesn't matter if the QB has less than 3 seconds to to get ready of the ball. Team only had one good performing lineman last year. Need at least one side to be dependable that way TEs or Rbs can help on the opposite side.
I think all the signings point towards drafting a tackle

Not sure what draft capital they’ll need to give up to get Jeudy or Hopkins. I assume Hopkins would be their 1st and 2nd rounders. But I think Hopkins would make such a difference. Pats receiving core would be elite.  If they don’t trade for a top WR then I suppose BB goes fishing for WR in the draft. Maybe O’Brien helps with that selection.

Hope whatever it was that had Bourne in the doghouse is resolved.  Also really hope Thornton can show himself to be a valuable receiver. With Stevenson and Robinson catching balls out of the backfield and the 2 TEs - Pats have weapons for Mac. Need to protect the QB and really would to see them get a #1 WR.

I don’t think any team is giving up a 1st and 2nd round pick for a soon to be 31 year old Hopkins who is making $20M/year. Jeudy is likely going to command a 1st round pick since he’s coming off his best year and is only 23 years old.
You’re right - I was way over on my thoughts about what it would take to get Hopkins.  If a 2nd would do it, I’m a little confused as to why the Pats wouldn’t go there. But - I’ve made it apparent that I’m not much of a judge of value, so I’ll stop there.

I think it has less to do with giving up a 2nd or 3rd round pick and more to do with the money. WR’s generally don’t do well in their 30’s and he’s making $20M annually. Hopkins would also have to be on board with coming to NE and likely reworking his contract. I’d love to get him, though. Have zero interest in OBJ.

I like Hopkins, but didn't he serve a 6-game suspension for PEDs?  That could be a sign that he realizes that his body is breaking down.
Edelman served a PEDs suspension at 32 ;)

SI.com’s Albert Breer reports that the Cardinals are seeking “a second-rounder plus something else of value” or “similar to what the Texans got for DeAndre Hopkins” in 2020.

The Cardinals’ deal with the Texans was getting Hopkins and a fourth-round pick in exchange for a second-rounder, a fourth-rounder and running back David Johnson.

Bruh if that's it then the Pats should 1000% do it. 2nd rounder + a future 3rd/4th

I'm sure Hopkins and the team could also restructure the contract to help the Pats out in terms of cap space and such as well.

FWIW, Mac Jones currently follows Hopkins + OBJ, and both those guys followed Mac first just 24-48 hours ago. Why is that somewhat significant? The previous 3 occasions of that happening were literally JuJu, Robinson and Gesecki (all signed by the Pats recently). Please be a sign!

Former New England Patriots running back Damien Harris is staying in the AFC East.

Harris has reached an agreement on a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He celebrated the reported deal with a tweet that read, "LETS GO BUFFALO #BillsMafia."

Sucks he went to Buffalo, but honestly I'm fine with letting him go. He was just constantly hurt, especially with hamstring issues. I can't count the number of games where he'd start, but then after just a few snaps would be hurt and then "questionable" the rest of the game (meaning he'd be out) usually due to hamstring.

I think our RB group is still lethal and Robinson is a sneaky good addition. It'll only look better once our OL improves as well. Still need a legit tackle.

I'm still waiting for our WR1, OT, and CB1. Any time now, Pats...  :-\

Pats have Trent Brown, Rieff, and Calvin Anderson. Brown just needs to decide that he want he wants to play well and will. They can draft depth here.

The Pats have always produced defensive players (draft and undrafted). Bill will find defensive backs again, like they did with JC Jackson, Jonathan Jones, Dugger, and now Jack Jones.

The legit #1 receiver is the hardest one. There are only about 10 of them in the league. Will stubborn Bill pay a WR close to what he paid Tom Brady? I don't think he will.

Which means he definitely won't spend on Lamar Jackson.

I think they're done for now.

so you don't think the Patriots would want Lamar?  That seems strange.  Lamar is a clear upgrade on Mac and would solve a whole heck of a lot of the Patriots issues.

Jeremy Fowler said the Patriots were looking into Lamar as well.  Fowler isn't "a hack & a joke"

There's nothing strange about it when you have an understanding of Patriots track record.  In a vacuum, yes.  When you factor in things like cap, compensation, and the team having various other pressing needs, it's almost certainly no-go for the Patriots.  Mac Jones on a rookie contract on a rebuilding team is better than Lamar Jackson on ridiculous contract on a strapped team.

I was speaking to Nick Wright.  The guy is 100% a hack and he's the homeless man's Skip Bayless.  Posting stuff from him is laughable.
