I don't know what Pierce was doing out there tonight. He was beyond passive until the fourth quarter. After taking four shots in the first, he took one in the second and none in the third. How does he do that? He wasn't even looking to score. He actually had his legs too and was able to finish inside, which is an unknown from game to game. When you're struggling to score, part of the problem is that you're leading scorer doesn't even look to score. Yeah, nice that he looks to score after they're down by double-digits with limited time remaining.
And what is it with Doc playing KG for fourth quarters? Why sit him down for the entire third quarter from the 7:25 mark on. Instead of trying to come back in the fourth quarter, which is an iffy proposition, try to come back in the third. Every freaking quarter is important. I don't understand why Doc plays him a ton in the third and fourth quarters and only a few in the other two. It's ridiculous.
Doc loves to buck the curve with how he uses KG. For all his innovation, the guy refuses to see what starting Green next to KG and Pierce looks like. What's the harm? Heaven forbid that Bass has to come off the bench.
