It's gonna be weird setup, but wowzers the defense.

I wonder how effective Dwight will be at PF after his injury?

Offensively it'd be a tough pairing too.

Grantland did a big huge breakdown on it  last week. Basically, they compared when Asik and Greg Smith were on the floor together, and looked at Greg Smith's offensive role.

Asik + Dwight = worst offensive team in the league + best defensive and rebounding team

I wonder how long it will take for DH to start whining about how he's not being used properly.

Gets even better when you realize that Parsons is going to be out there as well.

It could work against certain teams that play smaller big men and don't have a lot of shooters.

I don't see that being an effective strategy for extended minutes, though.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

You mean like the Celtics?

Morey is trying to perfect the Magic's system with two bigs and stretch shooters. He's done well with Parsons and Harden because they are far better dribble penetrators than the Magic were in the Magic's 2009 finals run.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

When does the season start?  ;)

If Howard and Asik are on the floor together, as soon as the Rockets are over the limit for fouls in a quarter, whenever I can, I am sending out my 3rd string PFs and centers and telling them to hack Howard and Asik like crazy, then subbing them out for my first stringers to play offense. It sure beats letting Harden and Parsons or anyone else shoot the ball on that team.

i think its a great idea and worth a try.  i always like when a team makes other teams have to adjust to their moves, rather than reacting to other teams.  be proactive.
