Never been a real big Gilbert Arenas fan so I really hope that Agent Zero IQ loses his $111 million over pulling a gun over a small bet. That would be justice considering we all know he won't be arrested or do jail time for this but that any of us would have been in jail

Apparently he has a bit of a character flaw.

The official term for his action is "Assault with a deadly weapon". Just drawing your gun and pointing it at someone qualifies as this. Top that with the fact that they weren't allowed to have them there in the first place means that Arenas especially is in very big trouble. Crittenton can plead that he was drawing his in self defense so a posession charge is much more likely for him. You or I would likely see jail time for what Arenas did. He will probably gret a slap on the wrist. I don't see HOW the Wizards couldn't get out of his contract.

Yeah that's the bright spot for the wiz here. They can rid themselves of Gilbert's contract.

even if they rid themselves of his contract money wise, he will still count against the cap for the next 3 or 4 years like Vin Baker did for the C'S.

If I was the C's I would see if they have any interest in a BBD , Scal, TA, for Jamison  It would save them a bunch of money over the next few years and BBD would give them a good young PF to start the rebuilding process. It would be great if the C's could land either of Jamison or David West for BBD + expiring contracts. David West would be my first choice because he is still only 29 and is signed for the next 2 years at a reasonable contract.

I would like to see a backup plan in case KG's knee doesnt hold up and Rasheed isn't it . We need some reliable scoring punch from our backup PF's

I would LOVE to have Jamison on this team!

If all is true,i wonder how David Sterns handle this...with the already scandals of gambling in the NBA(TD),gambling in the locker room doesn't help the NBA's reputation. Also if all is true, if Sterns doesn't give them both a firm punishment what message does it send to other players around the league? There's no excuse for having/carrying guns in the NBA arenas or lockerrooms by players. If you think your life is in danger then hire a bodyguard.Im sure Gilbert can afford one.Shaq has a bodyguard that sits behind them at games last i knew.

i hear ya but anytime theres guns involved anything's possible. What i meant by hiring a bodyguard was,if their excuse for having weapons is for protection.

stupid stupid stupid. and ridiculous. Comical, yet not funny at all at the same time.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

It just occured to me that it took absolutely all day long for me to realize that in theory one or both of these guys could go to jail.  We are just that used to seeing pro athletes never ever go to jail, no matter how guilty, or what the crime.

The only two athletes that it ever occured to me might go to jail were Rae Carruth and OJ, and even then only after he was actually charged AND tried to flee in the Bronco.
