Firstly, he had one of his MRI's "cancelled" by the Cavs training staff.
Secondly, we're all making way too much of this elbow injury. The fact that this thread exists means we're feeding into it.
It's a strained elbow with a bone bruise...nothing more and nothing less.
Lastly, this is obvious but I'm still going to say it...an MRI is a big deal to an average person/citizen. It means something hurts, something could be wrong, a visit to a hostpital/private specialist will be made, money will be spent, and anxiety will kick in after said MRI.
However, to an NBA player getting an MRI is much like using the toilet...it's quick, the machinery is right there in the locker room/trainer's area, it's free, and no special trips need to be made.
I"m sureu Pierce had MRI's on his knee/elbow more often than we heard about this season and in previous seasons as well.
Remember when he had his knee/elbow drained during the all-star break this year? I'm sure that was because of something that showed up on an MRI.
Anyways, the OP makes a great point...Lebron should be more dangerous with a damaged elbow because it means he SHOULD be taking higher % shots closer to the basket. That won't be the case because of the Celtics' strong defensive structure and efforts.
GO C's!
