I don't know if he and Pietrus are good friends, but I hope Danny is going that route in recruiting him on an eventual buyout.

Diaw is a very talented player, but is not a Center. He would be great off our bench because he is a very good playmaker from everywhere on the court. He can score and pass, and he's no Rodman, but he plays tough when motivated.

If he's bought out, get him. If it's a trade, I'd rather try to get McGee/Blatche or Beasley/Randolph, who can run with Rondo and could bring a future starter even at the cost of a first rounder.

well now that we're looking for a buyout guy I'd keep KG at center and play Diaw at the 4, maybe bass back off the bench as a 6th man

If we're relying on Diaw for frontcourt depth we might as well give up.

He's a poor man's Sheed.

Robert Horry is a poor man's Sheed.

Boris Diaw is just a fat slob.

This. The guy is so out of shape it is pitiful.

Versatility, high basketball IQ, experience, defense...

He is a no brainer.

Brandon Bass will return to the bench. We have a scorer on bench again.

Two birds with one stone.

Tony Parker is looking to recruit him hard to SA no way he picks us over them. It would help ya know if we hadn't been stinking it up and playing well. Same thing for Reggie Evans if he's bought out he most likely goes to Miami not a struggling Celtics team. It is what it is.  >:(

He (Evans) won't go to Miami since they just got Turiaf...

keep the starting lineup as is. Get Diaw to be the playmaker off the bench to create driving lanes for Bradley and set Dooling & Pietrus to shoot. Get Fesenko/Hollins to compete for the 4th big spot with Steamer.

If anything else fails, get Sheed out of retirement. Ball don't Lie!

Looks like the Sweetney replacement. Dudes fat.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

He is a good passer sort of like a bigger (in every way) paul pierce sans range.  He can help control a 2nd unit with good passing and smarts.  We need some of that, can't run rondo into the ground (backup pg?)

Y! Sources: Spurs emerge as frontrunners for Boris Diaw should he clear waivers.

Looks like it's Hollins and Fesenko then?

I knew it....I'd rather take Fesenko over Hollins but the thing is he hasn't played in sooo long doubt hell give us much if anything most likely is extremely out of shape which is why teams have probably stayed away from him. If that's the case Hollins is probably the better choice.

Sums up my thoughts... Diaw would be too good to be true.

Aw, crap.

I'd prefer Powell and one of those two, but they are all fringe NBA players who don't belong in a playoff rotation.

What a waste of a season for Rondo + the Big 3.  The Green/Wilcox/JO injuries, the Dooling over Delonte selection, no help in the trade market, and now what looks like a strikeout in the always unreliable buyout market.

It's amazing how Danny didn't trade for one of these guys.

It is mind-boggling.  Hickson, Diaw, Turiaf: they all must have been cheap to acquire and we had the contracts/2nd round picks to spare.

At this point out of everybody not available I say Sheed is the best option. If its true he's at least been working out and is active. He maybe wants another 1 year or whatever contract next year and is willing to really lay it all out there. He's familiar with everybody and I think I remember reading still stays or hangs out in the Boston area a lot.
