That's excerpted from here:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AoUqV6FlTV4P55YJJ7RzkSN20bYF?slug=teamreports-2009-nba-bos&prov=sportsxchange&type=team_report

I live in LA, so sadly I've heard the chest-pounding on the radio day in and day out about the "overrated" Celtics.

But does anyone know which Lakers came out and said that they'd have won the Finals with Bynum?  I can't imagine anyone with class saying they'd have WON, though they might say, "Well, it might have been a different ball game, We'd have to play to find out, etc, etc", which is a different statement.

I saw that Game 6, and I have the DVD, so I know which way is up in this case.  That team was as thoroughly defeated as they could have been.  Bynum or no Bynum, they didn't have the heart to compete for 48 minutes.  I'd love to know which Lakers think that Bynum in the lineup gives them a heart transplant.

I will hearken back again to the fact that the C's had a severely weakened (or absent) Perk for much of the Finals.  Perk played just 13 minutes in 3 of the games  and missed Game 5 altogether.
Yup

Didn't Bynum, himself, claim that he probably wouldn't have made a difference enough playing and the Celtics would've still beaten the Lakers in the Finals?

It has taken Bynum almost 4mos.to show any real growth in his game. The handful of big games he had before his injury (caused by Kobe)were aganist second tier teams or worst.

Not to mention Rondo's sprained ankle. We might have swept them if not for that.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Everything's an if, well too bad, you didn't have him, and you lost, just like tonight, you don't have him and your going to lose. Celtics are world champs, you are not, you suck, Celtics don't.

They can say what they want. Doesn't make it true.

I already said it in another thread...

If they wanna make the Bynum excuse just tell them, "I hear ya... we would have won in 1987, 1988, 1989, etc if Bird hadn't been injured and if one of our franchise players hadn't died before putting on a Celtic jersey."

We would have won every year in the 90's if we didn't stink so bad

The Spurs never would have won 4 titles if David Robinson hadn't gotten hurt the year before Duncan was drafted.

The Lakers wouldn't have made it to the finals had Memphis not gifted them Pau Gasol...

Taken a step further...

The Lakers wouldn't have made the finals had Boston not traded for KG... because KG would have likely gone to the Suns and the Celtics likely would have traded for Gasol...

Thus... Laker fans should be thanking us for their trip to the big dance.

you forgot to mention reggie's death and the lack of salary cap relief for it too.
