I did not get a nintendo until 5-6 years AFTER the Super NIntendo came out, so my list might be stranger but:

1.  Mario 3
2.  Metroid
3.  Final Fantasy
4.  Duck Hunt
5.  Bayou Billy

My brother traded Contra to a friend of his for Bayou Billy about 15 years ago, and I still haven't forgiven him.

its SNES, but i lent a kid FF3/6, and he moved and took my copy.

I still owe him a punch in the face.

asking for a top 5 in nes games is almost impossible, but I'll go through some of my most memorable ones (for various reasons) in no particular order

Kung Fu - 1st game I ever  bought with my own money - when you get a dollar a week for allowance when you're 5, that's a freakin accomplishment...still own it too!

Ice Hockey - I loved loved loved playing as the czech's

Mega Man - most rented game ever (never bought it)

Rad Gravity - I think we just liked it because it was one of the rare games not liscenced by Nintendo (there's a good book on Nintendo's history called Game Over about how controlling the company was over 3rd parties - good read)

Super Mario 1 - I still play it every now and again and still have trouble beating it

Kid Icarus - any game where you can turn someone into an eggplant is ok in my book

Excitebike - fully customizeable tracks - awesome!

We used to cheat and hit it with our hands... I only had 2 games for the powerpad, one was track and field, the other, sadly was dance aerobics... I really had to fake happiness on opening that gift

The original Techmo Bowl was the best game ever. I wasted way too many hours playing that game.

Mike Tyson's punch out was great too.

Worst thing about NES is if you tapped the system it would reset. So every time I was kicking my bros ass in Techmo He'd just tap the system with his foot. Also you had to put a Skoal Can in the system to get the game to work. Dam, I loved NES. They had a ton of really crappy game thou.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
In no particular order:

Kung Fu (my first game, still love it)
Tecmo Super Bowl
Any of the 3 Super Marios
Ninja Gaiden
Clash at Demonhead (just a weird fun game)

Can't remember if Battletoads was NES or SNES, if so it fits on the list too.

Oh man, I left the Castlevania series off of my list.  Totally unacceptable oversight.  Stick it on there a "5c".
