48, 49, who cares?
(Nobody.)
4th seed, does it mean anything?
(Not really.)

In season 2015-16 we won 48 games. I remember this forum at the time.
We were happy that we overachieved that regular season, but, the draw wasn't as favorable and we knew Atlanta was better.
Plus, Jae injured his ankle after playing his career season, that was a blow.
We (CBs then CSs now) knew our chances to do anything significant that year was about as high as those of a lamb at the butchers.
Even though we didn't want to openly express it (admit it only when it's over).

So, the regular season results from that year are basically the same this year.
But the difference is night and day;
- More experienced coach
- Better closer in Kyrie
- More talent and hunger from 1-12
- 4 years of playoffs, 2 years in the ECF, continuity is here

48, 49, who cares?
What I am really trying to say is, we can win it all this year.

Honestly, I'm GLAD the regular season is over. What a grind.

Now time for some playoff basketball where I think we'll shine and fight hard  8)

Me too, although I have to admit that it was great to watch Hayward for the past few weeks!  I'm expecting him to carry the momentum into the playoffs.

Yep.

I trust Playoff Al + Kyrie to show up, as will Tatum. What could truly determine how far we go (ECF and beyond) is if Jaylen and Hayward get more minutes and keep up their great play as of late. If so, then we've got a chance!  8)

With 49 wins, the Celtics wouldn't even be the worst regular season team to win a championship. Heck, they wouldn't even be the worst regular season Celtic team to win a championship.

They've still got the talent they had at the beginning of the year and for all of the stuff we've seen this season, I think we've also seen that they can go toe-to-toe with just about anyone when they're dialed in.

Even without Marcus Smart, this team has so much talent. Smart's injury means Jaylen (who's been on a tear lately) should get the start at the 2, and Hayward will still be able to tear it up as the 6th man. Rozier will unleash his Scary Terry alter ego with some more minutes in the playoffs than he expected, Al and Kyrie will give their a games, and Tatum is going to step up in his second postseason experience (With way less pressure this time).

I'm excited, I really believe in this team. We should roll through Indiana, have a tough series against Milwaukee that we can take in 6 or 7, and then play Toronto or Philly with Smart back in the lineup. I believe! This is the most talent we've had going into the playoffs in almost a decade. Let's go Celtics!!!

Well, at least I can care about the draft since there isn't a looming sense of all the picks going to NOLA  :-\

Smart, Brown, Tatum, and a bunch of first round picks.

Semi, Yabu, Timelord.

That's the team moving forward folks.  Hayward is there too but he doesn't fit the timeline.

It's youth movement time.

I'm excited to see what these players can become. I'm excited to see what brad Stevens can do with a young group of talented but now likely underrated players.

Gonna be an interesting few years.

Here is a dose of optimism:
This trade for the lakers will be just as disastrous as the Dwightmare trade.
Lakers get the 3rd seed and get bounced by the warriors in the first round ! Lol

Heres a major piece of optimism:

NO MORE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE SUPERSTAR ON AN EXPIRING DEAL FLOATING WEIRD, ANNOYING QUOTES TO THE MEDIA ALL YEAR LONG!!!

I'm so glad we don't have to do that again this year.

In a way, I'm kind of relieved about that too. But PLEASE don't bring back Rozier.
