We played a Rookie who is not even a lottery pick, in the dying minutes of a game 7 and it worked. Huge GUTS for both Brad and Grant.

Who else was there?

That’s it. Right there. Not much choice, and the kid did good. Not perfect, but he held down his end.

I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY EXCEPT

MARCUS SMAAAARRRRT

feel free to dunk on me for being wrong.*

*Bench points were 27-8 tho
what possible purpose does that last point make? what if the bench points were 90-1? it matter not.

It doesn't matter one bit.  Celtics won.  And that D by Williams at the end can't be overstated enough.  Bench guy.
yes, williams' defense was great at the end. even though toronto scored he forced them into low percentage shots. i like g. williams a lot.

Agreed GRANT came up huge tonight.

The bench points thing was apropos of what I posted earlier i.e. I felt that the raptors bench was going to give them a boost as starters on both teams were tired from game 6.

It nearly made the difference for them but SMART and TATUM made the big plays
correct. you were wrong. now be happy about it.  ;D

Another tough matchup next round for Kemba. Dragic is bigger and a tough two way player.

We’ll see. Toronto totally sold out to stop him - box and 1!! And both Lowry and FVV are plus, strong defenders who were getting a ton of help. I think Dragic will be a relief.
Dont think Miami and Dragic can keep up with Kemba, he's never been known for his D

Tatum established that he's a blossoming superstar tonight. 29/12/7 and solid defense in a Game 7.

Remember, even in Game 7 of the 2018 ECF, Tatum was great that night but sadly they just seemed to go away from him the final 6-7 minutes. Wasn't the case tonight. He was active out there and made plays on both ends to secure the win

People have a lot to say about Brad. Some of it is warranted, but this is his 2nd conference finals appearance in 3 years.
You mean 3rd in 4 years. Don’t forget IT.

Dragic a "two way player"? Since when does Dragic play defense? lol Definitely a bigger and good offensive player, but he's certainly nowhere near the level of Lowery or even FVV defensively.

Yeah, much more favorable match-up for Kemba.  And I can't think of better options to check Butler than Jaylen-Smart-Tatum.

Issues going forward:

Gotta say, I'm not loving the "clear it out for Tatum" thing Brad is doing late.

Why not run our weak side secondary stuff?

Kemba won't be played like that again. He needs to keep his confidence up and keep shooting.

I'd like to see a little more Grant.

i’m felling better about the tatum iso, as he is not forcing shots but is finding the open man.

props to Grant Williams also

he was solid tonight.   2 FTs would have been nice but it all worked out

8-12 in 3s in this series. While he couldn't hit a 3 for like the first 15 games of the season

And we get THIS GUY back next series

This is huge. Our bench becomes a whole lot deeper just having Smart in it and Hayward playing with them.

Correct me if Im wrong, but is this the first game 7 win of this iteration of Celtics?

I don't know about anyone else, but Marcus is still starting if I am Brad.  Let hayward come off the bench.  Marcus is too important.
