So I'm currently in a position that is rather slow during the day, and I was wondering if anybody knew of any good sites to find new music besides Pandora.

Sirius radio does a free trial, and I've found youtube playlists are pretty awesome.

depends on the kind of music you want to listen to.  If you're looking for hip hop, allhiphop.com, hiphopdx.com and datpiff.com are great sites.  Looking for more rock, purevolume is a great site to check out.
do it

I use www.CDBaby.com, it's basically all underground/non-mainstream artists and they have all different genres.

You can search by "sounds like" too, just type in some well known artist you like, and they'll give you people who have a similar sound.

Since a lot of this stuff is underground, some of it's hard to find on other sites (if you're looking to grab it for free or listen to the whole album), put you can hear the first 2 minutes of most songs (which is plenty of time to tell if you like it or not), but of course they want you to buy the songs but it's all good because we need to SUPPORT INDEPENDENT ARTISTS!

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

check out PitchforkMedia.com for reviews of a lot of good new music, or check out rateyourmusic.com for ranked lists of the best new albums each year.

obviously you don't actually get the music from those sites, but im sure you can figure out how to acquire the music

There is a local radio station that always has good, fresh music.  They do a lot of cool stuff, actually, if you're into 90's style rock, og blues cuts, and reggae.

Another station I stream at work that always has some good new stuff is the Marthas Vineyard station.  A little more on the folk side of things, but always has some good new stuff.

And finally I have to pass on a link to my current favorite band, John Browns Body.  They play an up-beat style of dub reggae.  Very infectious stuff, and a really great live band to see if they pass through your town.

KEXP has been pretty good.  I listen to it streaming online at work.  Good Indie music.
