Looking at the shot breakdown and FTA of a few other scoring point guards for comparison, ya D'Angelo Russell seems extremely low here:
% of shots 0-3 ft (last season / career avg) and FTA (last season / career avg)
Kyrie: .226/.254, 3.7/4.4
D'Angelo: .137/.155, 2.5/2.6
Kemba: .252/.256, 5.5/4.7
Westbroook: .361/.351, 6.2/7.1
Harden: .235/.274, 11.0/8.5
Curry: .142/.171, 4.2/4.0
Lillard: .297/.276, 6.4/5.8
Man I hate to watch it, but Harden is truly amazing at what he does drawing fouls. He takes a similar amount of shots from 0-3 feet as Kyrie/Kemba, but takes 2x-3x the FTA. And then you have guys like Westbrook and Lillard who take a much larger % of shots from 0-3 feet (Westbrook significantly more), and Harden still takes almost double the FTA. Hate the way it's called, but no ones better at getting the refs to blow that whistle.
