I'm not going to lie I'm a bit shocked that Boston made it, it seems that this year people didn't really worry about injuries.

Just curious, but why would you be surprised a team that you voted in made it?

Seems a bit counter-intuitive, no?

What was the tie-breaker between OKC and Minny?

Glad you brought that up. I screwed that one up. TP for catching it.

The tiebreaker is the highest and lowest vote from each team is thrown out and the scores recalculated.

OKC throws out a 13 pt 1st place vote and a 8 point 6th place vote for a new total of 256 pts.

Minny throws out a 13 pt 1st place vote and a 7 point 7th place vote for a new total of 257 pts

So Minnesota won the tiebreaker. I had my numbers inverted. Sorry. I will fix that on the OP

If anyone else sees any calculations wrong bring them to my attention and I will correct.

Oh - well glad I asked then. I was just curious what the system was. So who do I match up with now?

How does a 1st place vote in the west equal 13 pts when there are only 12 teams?

Does this have to do with keeping the top 8 in each conference equal in terms of pt value per position?  Meaning the last place team in the west is worth 2 pts, while in the east it's only worth 1 pt.

It seems that 1 v 8 matchup in the west just got a lot more interesting.  Minny vs Portland could be quite compelling.

Bron vs Melo....that should be fun.

All playoff threads are open and teams can start posting strategies and having their debates.

I'm not going to lie I'm a bit shocked that Boston made it, it seems that this year people didn't really worry about injuries.

Im shocked that Boston didn't place higher. They're a great team.

At least we get to relive the Hayward vs. Martin debate for another round.

I know, right? Well I'll tell you one thing, I couldn't be playing against a better, more respected GM than Roy Hobbs. I await the challenge.

A good team with a good amount of injury concerns.

Well, obviously. We were a 7th seed. If we were healthy we'd be a 1 seed.
