  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Keep in mind that "Best" is not synonymous with "Most dominant". Kareem 100%.

I voted Larry.

However, MJ has to at least make the poll. ;)

Went MJ because he was just unstoppable at time.

I will be surprised though if Wilt doesn't get major love.

One more vote for MJ.

How do I know I am on Celticsblog? Because Larry Bird is getting more votes for best offensive player over Jordan.

Bird was amazing, one of the best ever, but there is only 1 Michael Jordan.

I went with Wilt. Could have gone him or Jordan. Both were ridiculously unstoppable on offense. Wilt averaged 50 a game one season just hard to even imagine that possibility.

I think Larry gets added credit for his passing and his offensive boards.

Yup, Bird gets the passing and rebounding nod. Although for his position, Jordan's rebounding was very good, and Jordan's passing was also very good.

Jordan's scoring ability was so near unstoppable even against double teams that he didn't need to pass as much.

I'd be willing to bet that Jordan would have been a more willing creator if he had big men like McHale and Parish instead of Rodman/Grant and Cartwright/Longley around the basket.

I respect your team offense over individual scoring ability opinion, even though i think Jordan has enough of everything to compliment his scoring ability and be named best offensive player ever.

If we're talking about unstoppable scorers, let me give Bernard King an honorable mention.  That guy put up some unbelievable numbers during his peak, and efficiently, too.

He's not the best, but at his peak, he was close.  Adrian Dantley gets a nod, too, not so much for the raw scoring, but for the efficiency.

Funny you mention Dantley because hje was the 13th player on my depth chart yet had a TS% around 66%, scored over 30 PPG, had over 5 RPG, 4 APG with an AST% of 18% and yet got no love as a pick because of his very Allen Iverson attitude.

Still, the raw offensive stats are mind boggling.
