Anyone else catch the game?
Terrell Vinson had a (very lucky) last second basket to put UMass over the top.
You can catch the highlights here (Vinson's shot around 1:05):

Yeah ... it was a great game, and I'm happy to see UMass playing so well ... wasn't quite sure how this season would go, but so far, not so bad. ;) (TP)

  • "This is beautiful. What is that? Velvet?"
Great up and down game and a very "right place at the right time" play at the end of the game.

UMass has another good one Wed night @ BC.
"Coach you were 24 and 58 last year, why the playoff talk?"
"Well we made a couple of key trades . . . and we got The Funk."

Saw the highlights when I was out last night.

Great win for the Minutemen. Always nice to see them doing well (except when they play BC).  Heckuva finish.  Love the unis with the "Massachusetts" on the front.

I am glad about UMass.  UMass has lost its program since Calipari left and every time they start getting some steam, something happened.  I was there when we had Ford as the coach and just when they were creating a buzz, the guy leaves.  Let's hope that Kelloggs gets these guys going again.

PS. The best upset was the UConn game!  I was at the game with my girlfriend (at the time) and got to see an absolute great game.  Then I go back to her dorm just to catch the Celtics play against Portland when Pierce has a nasty buzz beater to end the game.  And I didn't go home until the next morning after getting swiped in for some Dining Commons breakfast.  That was just a great overall 16 hours.
Baby Jesus!

I was there during the Calipari days.   Would be nice if we were that good ever again.

One of my alltime favorite sporting events I was at was the '95 Commonwealth Classic at the FleetCenter.

UMass was #1 in the country (Camby in his prime) and beat a Danya Abrams-led BC game that was a lot more competitive than I thought it'd be.

The FleetCenter had just opened a few months earlier and it was my first time at the new place.  It was one of those wintery Saturday afternoon games in December.  Went with my dad.  Great experience.

The crowd that day was intense. So loud.  Sold out arena, packed to the rafters.  Great experience.
