With the current basketball weather of NBA monopolizing the competition, do you think some competition would be healthy for a long term?

AFL and NFL were competitors before Superbowl was made and NFL absorbed AFL and turned them into division instead. Same thing with ABA and NBA in the 70's

Here's a video comparison of how ABA vs NBA products differ with their products:

In this video, it is stated that the NBA is more fundamentally sound and is more about winning, compare to the ABA's more flashy and colorful league. ABA was eventually folded but their main goal was to get absorbed by its competition. So somehow, they were quite successful as 4 teams got absorbed into the NBA.

Perfect example of competition making better products was the 90's Monday Night Wrestling wars. WWF and WCW were clashing each other for better ratings. WWE's products now pales in comparison in the 90's.

Going head-on immediately is not a good decision. Maybe starting out as a small minor league with Big-name endorsements, probably from former NBA personalities.

Big 3 is a good alternative to NBA after the season ends. However it is not a formal basketball game with only playing half-court and 3v3 format. Nobody is interested in WNBA either.
