Summary: Bulls will trade anyone to win now. The reason Rose is untouchable is that he's untradeable for value with his contract and injury troubles. It'd have to be a salary dump or receiving bad contracts/players in return.

Basically its a non-story.

I think you missed the part where it said the team is looking to upgrade the roster.  They're looking for a win-now trade and Noah would probably only be available as part of a trade for a superstar; they're not looking for draft picks.

Trading for a first team all-NBA player is going to cost a heck of a lot more than a few first rounders.

Honestly, that makes their team worse...

I wonder if there would be a way to get Love and Noah. Bring Melo to Chicago, and get Minni and NY some young players, picks and expiring s to get it done.

If Melo goes to Chicago, Noah stays in Chicago.  He's the one recruiting him.

Maybe they plan on still "contending" or that's a smoke screen to get better offers because they have seen Rose's medical reports and they are not happy about the future.

Love doesn't make as much sense without keeping Noah, and with Pekovic, Noah makes little sense for Minnesota (and frankly with Gibson, Love doesn't make much sense for Minnesota)

Now if you made some massive 3 or 4 team trade it might make a bit more sense or you included some players.  Something where Noah goes to a team like the Lakers or Boston, the high draft pick and young players go Minnesota, Gibson goes to Houston with Asik and Love ending up in Chicago.  Various other picks and players move around as required.

2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Ditto Love trade. No Noah, No Love.

Seems the Bulls are a little worried about D-Rose's health... U just dont trade away arguably the best center in the game for another "superstar".. Sorry but id rather have a young Noah than a 30 yr old Melo... The only reason theyd trade Noah is if theyre rebuilding cuz Rose aint healthy.. This is also consistent of them trying to trade up in the draft for younger talent rather than trade for Love.. As a celtics fan living in Chicago, couldnt be more happy..
