if he can shoot like that in the NBA ,  that would take the pressure off Brown and Tatum  alot .

Nesmith is going to fill a role for this team for a while that the C's have not had since Ray Allen.  A professional shooter.  We have good shot makers but no one on the C's is a professional shooter.  Not Kemba, Tatum no one.  A professional shooter is Korver, Ray Allen, JJ Redick, Reggie Miller, Petrovic, Klay.  The C's have had good shooters and good scores but no one whose greatest skill was shooting.  Nesmith is a sniper and will bury you if you leave him open.  Nesmith will at minimum be a JJ Redick.  I believe he can play better D and if he can improve his handles like Jaylen has over the last three years then they will have a really really good starting SG.  People laugh at the gym rat comment CBS made but this to me shows he will put in the work like JB did to become a better ball handler and scorer from all 3 levels.  I'm very excited about him.  More then most.  Outside of Haliburton this is the guy I wanted most.  He's going to really help on the 2nd unit and allow the C's to finally have someone from the bench that can score.

Reddick is a prolific 3 pt shooter and clutch.... so thats a big shoe to fill

I would say Covington is a decent comparison/ceiling.
Except Covington isn't a professional shooter as tonydelk described.  He's a 3 and D guy who is a pretty good shooter.  I'm hoping Nesmith is more like Korver/Duncan Robinson.

also we might be able to hold leads. How many times did we let leads slip away cuz our bench couldn’t make a single bucket for a quarter

+1. Its not just his stroke, but the way he gets ready/setup to shoot.  It is very pro like

and Celtics need to thank an "enemy".  Khris Middleton.  Apparently he has really helped Nesmith refine his shooting touch/footwork.  Also his coach Jerry Stackhouse.  Tough scorer back in the day

This is not a romeo pick. Nesmith is an elite shooter. Elite skill always translate to the nba. Especially one like shooting.

Romeo has NO elite skills. Nothing.

We saw so little of him, though. If he can ever get healthy, he has a pretty interesting physical profile. I was impressed with his defense those couple of games he got minutes. He seems to have a nose for getting to the rim.

It wouldn't surprise me if he never gets healthy or gets healthy but never finds his place but I could also, easily, see him turning into a useful NBA player.

How do we know what elite skills he has, unfortunately, he had injuries in his rookie year and, Stevens doesn't like playing rookies to begin with!

Couple quotes that stand out:

"Langford was rated as a 5 star recruit by Rivals, 247Sports, Scouts, and ESPN, which have praised him for his electric scoring and playmaking abilities."

"His calling card coming into the league was his offensive smoothness, an ability to get to the rim and finish with ease even against some of the best defenders."

"Defensively fluid, he can guard opposing wings and guards with an impressive blend of speed, strength, and lateral quickness."

I look forward to him getting healthy and potentially pushing Smart back to the second unit where he can thrive.

"There's sharks and minnows in this world. If you don't know which you are, you ain't a shark."

Watch this video interview with Mike Schmidt of ESPN.  This player is impressive.  His hard work and commitment and discipline to get better last off season are impressive.  He studies the greats like Dame and McCollum for foot work.  Love this kid.

nice game highlights of Nesmith. Clutch 3s

I also dig his physicality.  Setting solid picks and even being physical with Okoro late in the game

His defense has to pickup pace.  He needs to react a half and sec quicker.  On closeouts find that happy medium/range where he can utilize his wingspan to try to block jump shots but also ready to go backwards to prevent/stop the drive .

liking the block nesmith got in. If he can become a solid 3 & D bench player, that's exactly  what we need
