So as long as I'm here, how do you guys see the respective conferences shaking out?  This is off the top of my head so I may be omitting somebody, but I see the conference final caliber-teams like this (in no particular order):

East:
KNICKS
Nets
Heat

West:
Thunder
Lakers
Clippers

Gun to my head, I say conference finalists are Knicks vs Nets in the East, and Thunder vs Clippers in the West.  Lakers and Heat are right there with them, though.

The hawks think your a hater

I'm just not sold on Love and Granger; Granger for the injury recovery, and Love for the injuries and because he's never been able to show he can contribute effectively to a winning team.  Calderon's defense at PG is also a weak spot.

If both Granger and Love can come back healthy you could have a very good squad next year, but I don't see it right now.

Im glad someone else pointed this out. I kept seeing it in his sig but never commented.

Strong on paper but not so much on the court

I can understand why you might say that if you are unfamiliar with granger, love, horford, and lopez
Maybe in the future you are a title contender, but I can't see how you compete this year without a healthy Kevin Love.

Of course, though when love comes back, I'm not sure anybody could beat my team if I could manage to snag the 8 seed

Really need to snag a shooter

You think so?   Horford, love, and Calderon are all very good shooters for their positions.

For what it's worth, in loves last two seasons he shot 41% and 37% from three on at least 3 attempts per game

Yea I actually think a healthy Love is your best shooter. I would personally rather have Brewer off the bench as a defensive specialist

I like brewer as a starter being able to defend the oppositions best guard.  I don't honk I need any more scoring in the starting lineup so I thnk it works well.  But I do agree with who that with all my jump shooting a slashing pg that will attack the rim could be useful.  Love and horford will be able to draw big men out of the paint leaving the rim unprotected

In general I don't think there is a defensive front court in this league that can matchup up against the size and skill combination that horford and love have.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

1. Chris Paul
2. Iman Shumpert, Marcus Thornton
3. Corey Brewer, Kyle Korver
4. Blake Griffin
5. Larry Sanders

What do you think of my team?
What do you think I should target with future picks?
Of my four wing players who do you think should start?

Either (1) Shumpert and Korver, or, (2) Thornton and C.Brewer.

I think either combination works well. A shooter and a defender. I am not sure which one works better. But I would avoid two non-shooters or two non-defenders. One shooter and one defender.

Maybe Shumpert and Korver. They call their own number less often. Give more room for CP3 and B.Griffin to do their own thing. Give your bench a quality scorer in M.Thornton. Yeah, that seems right to me.
Brewer can play some two as well, so I could also start Brewer and Korver. I think I will go with Shumpert and Korver though.

Any suggestions for future picks? Or trades I should look into?

Yes, I wrote in a post just above. A backup PG for CP3 and a burly physical center behind Larry Sanders. Those would be my next two priorities in the draft.

Corey Brewer would definitely work as a two guard too. I actually prefer him at the two than the three. Your backup wings would be quite small with M.Thornton (SG) and Shumpert (SF) though. I don't really like either of those players at the three. That would be my concern with starting C.Brewer and Korver starting together.

I think balance wise it would be marginally better the other way but there isn't much difference in it whichever way you decide to go.

Why I don't like your team? Joe Johnson. You traded Monta for him (I think) but barely an upgrade. Good luck with iso Joe
I feel bad for Joe Johnson. His reputation has took such a beating these last few years.

Very close to pariah territory.

I think it's his contract. If he was making 10-12mill there wouldn't be near as much hate

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Kevin Love + Al Horford = best big man duo in the league?

I think they probably are.

Duncan and Garnett in Boston look to be their main rival to my eyes. Maybe Kirilenko and D.Howard too. I am still a little shaken by Dwight's downturn in performance level this year though. I love AK-47 as a four.

Honourable mention -- David West and LaMarcus Aldridge in Portland + Tyson Chandler and Paul Millsap in New York. A.Bynum and R.Anderson might be able to crash this group if A.Bynum can prove his health.

I just don't think Love can ever get healthy. Major injuries the last 2 years and minor ailments stopping him from ever having a truly healthy season. Reminds me of Andrew Bogut.

Interesting. I've never thought of him as a Mr. Glass type despite the injuries, but you make a good point.

I got these guys

This is hands down my favorite duo to come out of this draft.

The problem is, I just don't see one single difference maker at any of your other positions.

Agreed. Just a dirty duo for bigs, possibly best of all teams. But you are right, after that a HUGE drop off. Still like them though

PG: Ricky Rubio, Raymond Felton
SG: Alonzo Gee, DeMar DeRozan
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Deandre Jordan

Obviously I need to add some bigs on the bench, but I have a few guys that I think will be available when I pick. So far, I like my team. Think we're being underrated by all the other teams on here with big flashy names. Think my squad can hang around with any team in the league. We're pretty similar to the Mavs team that won he championship a few years ago.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I like the idea of having Derozan as my sixth man. Think he will really give me a spark off the bench.

No, Bynum is going to get healthy, he's on my team. All the other question marks are beyond saving.

Also think Gee would fit in better with the 1st unit. Him and Rubio will be the best defensive backcourt in the league and he will give us more spacing with his perimeter shooting.

To be fair to Roy, IP, your 'word' with injured players is a kiss of death. Amare, Bogut, now Bynum. Leve our injured bigs alone!
